I was wondering if you experts and novices out there in the field of building mecha could give a newbie some tips on building mecha out of legos, or if some of you know of webpages that have tips on them (i think i saw one at one point not sure (...) Thanks for the addresses. I'll have to go check those out as soon as I have a chance to, I just got addicted to and online game so I haven't had much time for legos =(. Or much over anything else for that matter. but i have been doing a bit of work (...) (23 years ago, 30-Mar-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Jason, I'm not an 'expert' on mecha - I haven't actually built one yet - but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night... ;) As for tips, I can't remember which site it was (anyone? anyone?) but one of them had an 'exploded' view of the (...) My two bits: Check out people's websites, many have tips. Also gives lots of ideas, "hey, I could do that!!!" This is where I got the first few tidbits for my first mech. My insight: draw on paper (I always like to draw things that I have vuage (...) (23 years ago, 20-Oct-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Greetings all, For some while I have been thinking about building my own mecha, inspired so by pictures of some fantastic mechs I have seen on the Net. (...) You can learn a great deal by studying the .dat files many people have been making. This gives you a _large_ library of examples of Mechas. First you need to get a .dat viewer/editor. Yeah, a lot of mecha builders (Jeremy S., Travis C., Ben V., Karim N., Pat J., etc.) make .DAT files for their models. Also, those who don't make .DAT files, often take good close-ups of their stuff (Brian C., Eric S., Ken T., Dave J., Chris S., (...) (23 years ago, 19-Oct-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Thanks for the tips, Fiddled around in Image composer and came up with this, I used the pick points and cut thing, it didn't take too long, but everytime I'd get what I wanted with the magic wand, and I'd click cutout, it wouldn't cut out, just go (...) thanks for the tips, i tried attaching to the body of the technic man but as there are no connector on the torso life was hard. 3 failed attempts and i headed down the path of a technic fig mech that has a cockpit instead. my mech (first ever too) (...) Since the design of an Evangelion (big robots from show of same name) is so anorexic-looking, I decided to go with a little more than 2 studs wide for the (...)
