Hey all

I present the successor to the Visage, the Visage II!

Please pardon the almost 2 week delay between my promise of pictures, and
the follow through, I must admit though the model is much improved since two
weeks ago though.=^)

The main feature of this model is the fully removable and almost studless
armor, which I must admit, was a PAIN to build. I'm never building with
removable armor again as it is such a pain to build. Especially since this
model is almost entirely studless.

This must have been the longest time I’ve spent building a mecha, (four
months) it just wasn’t that much fun to build, but I really wanted to build
a studless removable armor mecha, so here it is. Whether it was worth the
wait or not I dunno.

Please excuse the varying degrees of light in the pics, I’m still working
all that photography stuff out. =^P

Anyways,

MP-2 Visage II, The succesor to the aging Visage platform currently in use
by many countries, features:

(1) Short Range Booster pack (with a ceiling of 60ft)
(1) 80mm Fully automatic assault rifle with 100 round ammo drum.
(2) 200mm Anti Material Energy Rifle with rechargable 300shot battery.

Smoke decoys are housed within the vent on the chest.

http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=31631

Long Range Mecha Transport Vehicle (LRMTV), this unarmed vehicle, capable of
transporting the Visage II Thousands of miles over land and water was
designed specifically to carry the Visage II mecha platform. Cheap to
produce, these unarmed transports can move their cargo at speeds of up to
300 mph.

http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=31632

the original Visage can be seen here:

Aside from all the frustrations that went along with the building process I
gotta say I am pleased with the final result. =^)

Let me know what you think!

Hey, it looks well worth the wait.

The main feature of this model is the fully removable and almost studless
armor, which I must admit, was a PAIN to build. I'm never building with
removable armor again as it is such a pain to build. Especially since this

I tried removable armor once, just once, before deciding it was not for me.
I tend to think that it is one of the cooler 'look-at' styles, but man, it
is a real pain to get it that way.

This must have been the longest time I’ve spent building a mecha, (four

Wow, four months!  I usually take a week max on my mechs, mostly because of
school and stuff.  Although, I must admit, several of them are like works in
progress, as they have been changed so much. (the Atlas is in it's 5
resurrection, but 4 of them were on one Saturday) I like the result of your
work, but man, just pump one out for us next time ;<)

Please excuse the varying degrees of light in the pics, I’m still working
all that photography stuff out. =^P

Hey, join the Club ;<)  I am learning too, and I have had my digicam for
almost a year.

interesting to look at and figure out.

That is sweet.  I love the color choices, and your internal frames always
floor me.  My faves about this one:  Those big damn tan weapons, and the use
of minifig legs for knee joints.  Great uniqueness.  I wonder - how sturdy
are they?

I really need to get myself psyched and back into mecha.  I've had a "small

the ball rolling.

Hey there G! I actually saw this before you posted it (I think it was
friday...) That's a great mecha! The arms came out pretty well. How mobile
are they? And I especially like what you did to the chest. The little panels
make it look great! That old flatchest was pretty...ummmmmm...bland, but you
really spiced it up!

G-Miest! I'm always in awe of how you make those Frame's and then layer the
Armour all around! I enjoy seeing how you make Mecha. You have really got
the removeable Armour technique down. The feet are interesting, as is the head.

One other thing I wanted to mention is that I like how you managed to make
the internal frame just as big as it needs to be. The Model is compact in
that respect. Very cool.

The transport is a nice touch!

yeah the head is not at all similar to the old head, but I couldn't make the
head the same way, without making the torso similar to the old visage, which
I didn't want to do. The new head looks good I think though.

Hey, it looks well worth the wait.

Thanks Ryan!

The main feature of this model is the fully removable and almost studless
armor, which I must admit, was a PAIN to build. I'm never building with
removable armor again as it is such a pain to build. Especially since this
model is almost entirely studless.

I tried removable armor once, just once, before deciding it was not for me.
I tend to think that it is one of the cooler 'look-at' styles, but man, it
is a real pain to get it that way.

It really is.

This must have been the longest time I’ve spent building a mecha, (four
months) it just wasn’t that much fun to build, but I really wanted to build
a studless removable armor mecha, so here it is. Whether it was worth the
wait or not I dunno.

Wow, four months!

yeah I really didn't have alot of incentive to build. :S

I usually take a week max on my mechs, mostly because of
school and stuff.  Although, I must admit, several of them are like works in
progress, as they have been changed so much. (the Atlas is in it's 5
resurrection, but 4 of them were on one Saturday) I like the result of your
work, but man, just pump one out for us next time ;<)

hehe I'll try, right now I'm working on a dropship that should be done in a
couple of weeks, but I have a multiped mecha planned after that. We'll see
what happens!

Please excuse the varying degrees of light in the pics, I’m still working
all that photography stuff out. =^P

Hey, join the Club ;<)  I am learning too, and I have had my digicam for
almost a year.

it's been 3 years here, you have nothing to be ashamed of ;)
Aside from all the frustrations that went along with the building process I
gotta say I am pleased with the final result. =^)

Hey, I like it alot too, the intricacies of the removable armor are
interesting to look at and figure out.

Thanks Ryan!

Geordan! Awww man! The armor! The frame! Great work.

I must say the use of the minifig legs as joints is very 'ol skool'! That is
a great idea.

I am partial to studless designs and this takes the cake! How many showing
studs, 8 maybe? Pure awesomeness-ishy!! :^B

The weapons are great and creative and the LRMTV is cool, but kinda
contradicts in style to the Visage 2. It is very stud laden, the opposite of
the V2. Still look great. Kinda reminds me of a hoverboard. Teeheehee :^D

Finally I wnat to point out an oddity about the Visage 2. IMHO the neck area
seems a little unprotected and skinny. The rest of the mech is a big bulky
bad @$$ fighting machine, but the neck looks a wee to small. Just some
critisism.

All in all, you raised your mecha building abilities to a new level this
time! Great work!

Thanks, probably around 20 in all I figure :P

Yeah, if I had enough tiles I definitely woulda made it studless too, but I
used up pretty much everything on the mecha. :^P

yeah, originally I had no neck, and it looked really bulky, but too much
like a football player with his head scrunched in so I added the neck. It
does look like it could pop off easy though.

Thanks Tony, I appreciate the comments!
