Very nice indeed! I especially like how you've done the cockpit, with the
display on the top. I also like your two main cannons; it never ceases to
amaze me how you continuously come up with new gun designs that work so well.
I notice that the color scheme is similar to Dilur. Does this mean you took
Dilur apart? (Sniff)
Once again, great job!

Thanks Chris! The cockpit was the last and most headache-inducing thing I
built... The guns were just made to be really long and smooth.

Of course! I break up all my models once I take pictures and LDraw them. ;-)

I'm really beginning to like these platforms. The colors on this one are
good; nice scheme.
The body of this one is awesome, especially the cockpit. I like the
upside-down construction of the cockpit, and the placement of the displays.
I can't get into the legs for some reason...I think it's because the reverse
knees make it look kinda like it's gonna fall. Oh well, just not my
cup-o-tea, I guess. I do like the actual construction of the leg pieces;
just not the knee.
All in all, one awesome MOC though.

Yup, it was fun to build it like that.

Actually, out of the three mobile platforms that I have built this is the
stablest one. Even on slick surfaces it remains sturdy. Anyways, I like it, and
chose the design due to its originality.

Yeah, I guess that does make sense..the weight's supported closer to the
center, yes?
Now that I see the functionality of it, it's starting to make good sense.
And the red fins do give it some flare.

No. The only reason why it stands is because of the fins.
Also, since the upper legs face straight out, it allow the missiles located in
each one of them to launch more easily.

As usual the detail and building is top notch, but I have to say that the
shape of this one really looks awesome. I especially dig the head and the
cannons. The detail on the back is great too, I like the functional style
it has. Mobile platform mecha rule.

WOW! This is awesome Mladen,
Crap, the colours are so cool, they mix so well. Mmmmmmmm, big guns...;-)
The inverted leg design just rules, and the red fins on the inside are
sweet. I love the leg mounted missiles! and espeically since there is a flap
that folds down to cover them, Woah, awesome.
This thing is so cool, so sleek, but so deadly....

Amazing, Mladen! One day later, and the flood of responses confirms my
estimation.
I am extremely impressed, as usual, by your attention to detail, colour, and
form. This must be one of your larger creations, and yet the overall
composition is not diminished by the increased real estate.
Man! Going back to see it again, there isn't an extraneous detail in it--
just fabulous!
Thanks for the look-see!

Exactly! Greeblies for greeblies sake ends up with something that looks
like a pile of clutter. Even when you use lots of them, you've got an art
in making everything look like it should really be there, even if it is a
shovel in most other applications :)

Hey Mladen! I just got my new email addy to work with Lugnet. Very nice
model. I'm partial to the cockpit. Also I noticed that the click hinges on
the legs give it some texture (that took me a bit to figure out). I approve
of the more minimalist look of this mecha. Makes it look sleak and
functional. You really have a flair for adding enough, but not too much
greeblies. Now back to school huh? Oh well I can wait till summer %-)

Hiya Bryce,
Thanks for the praise! Yup, this mecha sure did end up looking sleeking. I'm
glad; I hate it when areas end up looking dull. Judging from the replies, the
cockpit ended up good. Great!

Mladen, long time to speak (hrmm, I mean write) Nice work on this latest
mecha. You are slowly moving in the direction of elegence over power or
utility (not that power or utility is bad, just noticed a slight design ethos
evolution in your models).
I really like the size of the cockpit on this one. Too many people get away
from large cockpits to make room for more functionality or weapons. I wonder
if you have purposes for all of the decorative elements on your models? I
usually have like 2-3 decorations that have an intended purpose but by the end
I usually add a few things that I need to make an explanation for later.

I could have gone into a lot more detail about every part on this mecha, but I
know that many people don't like reading through lots of text just to get a few
things straight (such as what the weapons are, etc.). So I just get right to
the point.
So yes, I definitely have a purpose in mind for most of the decorative elements
I place on my models.

Wow. amazing again. The details and cool little things that you add
definitally make these models something to look at both from far away and
upclose.
I am also amazed by how often you seem to produce models. Do you keep your
models together once you've photographed them? Or do you take them apart to
work on your next project? brickbay must love you ;)

Yeah, for a short while, just to put them into LDraw (CAD) format.

Saw this a while ago but Lugnet seems to
have had some posting problems
these past couple of weeks...
Another great one! A very clean design.
I like the way you use big red color chunks here,
makes the detail seem more realistic and painted,
since you have to consider that a real life mecha wouldn't
have small bits of different color scattered everywhere
(unless it was built in a junkyard).
You are very good at details that don't look contrived
or gratuitous. The big guns are great. I also like the jammer boxes on the
underside. The cockpit looks like a big heavy piece of armor, properly angled
to deflect incoming rounds so even if the platform was destroyed, the pilot
would survive.

Yup, it looks much better.

Heh, yeah, I just wanted to find uses for all those neat parts I got!

EXACTLY! I knew only you would point this out. ;-)
However, I am just dying to build a mecha which utilizes (probably yellow)
reactive armour... Then I can make the design as boxy as I like!

he does it again. I don't know what more I can really say so I'll just
tell you what came to my attention:
Love the use of the big cylnder behind the cockpit. Snot use in cockpit,
awesome. Colors and detail. Very nice. The color scheme is basic and
looks beautiful. Mimics anime very nicely. However, I think you should add
in a bit of clashing red or yellow 1x1 rounds or something here and there.
(grease points? service hatch? refeuling point?) It can give a bit of
functionality to your work.
Don't mean to criticise harshly, please don't take it that way. I was just
thinking to myself how I'd like some constructive criticizm now and then.
Also I realized that I never gave any. So, I made a new year's resoulution.
Lucky you, you're one of the first I get to try this on. (don't worry, once
I get my new camera, you all will get a shot at me too)
Anyway, another great walker. I gotta know though. The red supports on the
legs, do you need them? They look cool, I just want to know if the click
hinges can support the mecha on its own.
Oh! the barrels on the cannon. Yeee ha! I love it. I may have to steal
that.....

Hmmm... That is actually an excellent idea! I would love to implement it, but
it's just that I love sticking to the three-colours I choose for my models. You
can see that in all of my 2001 design. I just ***HATE*** jumping out of my
colour schemes. But good suggestion nonetheless.

Yes they must be there! The click hinges (48 in total) are insufficient in
supporting the MDP's weight. On carpets, it might work without them, but not on
slick surfaces. That was the major problem I had with my previous two
platforms, so I really wanted this one to be sturdy.
