This is an airborne hoist mecha used for hoisting objects and transporting them
around. On the back is a rocket engine for airborne operations, control and
flying. The pilot is situated on the front under the black windshield. At the
base are four pulley sets for hoisting operations.
All the parts for the mecha come from
Set 8129 [Peeron], excluding the
later added-on
flame and
smoke effects. Those came from other sets. But the mecha itself is all from
the one set. (And since the set did not belong to me I did not remove the
stickers).
The idea seed for this build came from the car engine and the windshield. The
car engine immediately reminded me of a jet engine. So I started thinking about
an air vehicle. And the windshield looked like the cover for a pilot seat. There
sizes lead to building at the micro scale level. Thus the starting point for the
mecha. Constraining the build to the set (#8149) which those parts came from
made it challenging and fun.
