Its called an experimental mecha because I didnt have a particular goal. I
did intend it to be light, almost architectural. I was going for something
like Sorens V siren (I love that
model!) but ended up with something... different. As a result, the joints really
arent strong enough.
You can probably see the V-Sirens influence in the shoulder, hip and foot
joints (and the deep-linked image!). The colour scheme is inspired by the
Renault F1 team... plus I really like medium blue.

Any feedback greatly appreciated. Im not going to change this thing now, Ive
been playing with it for far too long... but criticism will help to improve my
skills so fire away!

It definetly does have a light feel to it and I like the colors. This gives me
the impression its like a rich mans decoration mecha that he shows off to
guests in the parlor. Though you might want to beef up the interior so it would
look like a fig could fit inside or make it like a remote controled mecha via
neural helmet(unless thats what you were going for). I dont see what you mean
by weak joints however, unless its the axles constantly popping out of the
balls. Other than that I think its actually more sturdy than the V-Siren. I
had unpacked it at BF 05 and though a work of beauty, it fell apart if you just
looked at it funny. Thats one thing I admire about Soren, his willingness to
go for the one stud connections for the sake of form over function. My lugmates
give me hell over those. Build more mecha.

oh! excellent! I though that it might have ended up too chunky.

remote controlled via neural helmet... yeeeeah, why not, thats what I was
after... ;) No, youre right; I would have liked to make the torso a bit larger,
but for two reasons I didnt: worried about the ability of the legs to support
it (see below) and the way I made the torso means Ive only got two studs near
the waist to attach the torso armour too. Although I could have tried something
more clever with the angled shoulder technic connectors....

The axles do pop out occasionally. But mainly, its the knees: a single click
hinge, and it can be a trial posing it in anything other than upright standing.
The V-Siren has those lovely huge round disk hingy things at the knees. Also,
The feet have a tiny area of contact with the ground so they dont always
provide enough friction to keep a more splayed-leg pose up.
If you insist.
Thanks for your reply!

I like the different look to it. Im always digging stuff that is off the beaten
path.

First, a nod to V-Siren: very nice *blows Soren a kiss*
Yeah I can see the influence, but Id say youve made this design your own.
No critisism though. Im glad youre building new stuff. Ill add this one to
the list ;-)
