Hello all,
I submit for your perusal ( and hopefully your approval :)! ) the Tripedal
Assault Unit, or T.A.U. for short.
deep link: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=1312395
The T.A.U. is a long range fire support Mecha equipped with energy weapons only.
It was designed to be able to stay fight capable during protracted engagements
that would have ammunition dependent Mecha drop out of the fight long before the
battle was over.
Again as with all my Mecha designs, the T.A.U. is meant to be used in games of
Battletech. And yes Mark, that means I have made up rules for a Tripod Mech
(I just haven't finished my record sheet on the computer yet)!
I have not yet sat down and made the Mech on paper, but these are the weapons it
will have.
2- Extended Range Particle Projection Cannons
1- Extended Range Large Laser
2- Extended Range Medium Lasers
The T.A.U. has three modes of activity.
1. Movement mode:

2. Firing mode:

3. Storage Mode:

Enjoy!

| (...) Very nifty. There's lots to like about this, but the problem i have with it is that a tripedal mecha in this configuration would never be able to actually walk. In order to do that it needs to be able to lift at least one leg in the air, which (...) (19 years ago, 22-Jul-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

| (...) Very nice! At first glance I notice a passing structural similarity to the (URL) Quadwalker,> of which I am also quite fond. | (...) snip I think the three-leg design helps contribute to the angular theme of the mech, which makes it more interesting, IMO. Four legs would almost give it too much symmetry. I like the gray color scheme, and the use of the printed slopes really (...) (19 years ago, 23-Jul-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

| Hello Jon, I like the approach of a tripedal. It's not seen that often. The color scheme is perfect. Special thanks for (URL) this shot>! Now to the criticism. On the MOC I've none. But your photography is like mine, it needs improvement. I myself (...) (19 years ago, 25-Jul-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)
