Here is a short vid of "phase two" of my "moving moc" Micro Train Layout from
our last show.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y4QZNpkMeY8
This layout features many souvenir micro sets (three Brickfest, a Brick World
one, and a BrickVention one), and a few stock Lego sets. It also has many micro
MOCs I created plus a moving train, cable cars, windmill, and gristmill.
In "phase one" I ran a custom (John Barnes) Micro train on n-scale Track and it
was displayed at the last Brickfest. This second attempt was to create and all
Lego solution, and in hindsight I have no clue why I used tread links for the
cable car instead of string, which would have been a cheaper and more elegant
solution.
I am currently in "phase three" of this project where I will use this hindsight,
as well as add a new solution for a subway train, for our upcoming show.

Hey Janey,
This is awesome. Blogged! Are there still
pictures of this layout anywhere? I know there are some of the individual
elements in your Brickshelf folder, but didnt see the whole thing.

Janey,
Very cool--you give me inspiration for my first microscale project that's coming
up in the near future... and for the record, I like the chain-drive sky car...

Glad you are coming down... and as for BNL, silver cords and lay lines. Wink.

Very nice work, as always, CL Janey.
Tread links for the cablecar might have been more expensive and may look a
little less elegant, but they grip the horizontal gears far more reliably than
string does horizontal pulleys, and one can span a much greater distance with
much less vertical support (or even none)with a lot less tension than one can
with string.
Spotlighted. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers

Hmmmm... you have made a good point... I will try out the string for this next
show but I might just have to revert to the chain.

When I was looking for my other moc pictures...
I found a few stills that Chris took of me and the layout at our last train
show. I have added them to my micro folder here ...

Yes, she is the good twin, I have tied her to the building table and I am
allowing her sort. Hopefully she wont be bothering the nice ppl of lugnet any
further.

Stunning. Just stunning. And seeing the Brickvention Trams brought an instant
grin to my face. I love the way all the convention sets blend so well with
everything else you have added to the layout. The cable car is cute, and I agree
with Richie, I like the chain link, looks authentic.
Keep up the Micro, You do us proud
Aaron
PS: But you do now know, you have thrown done the gauntlet, hmmm, what to
moterise in my next micro ....
