Im sure most of you will know about this years LEGO cars with pull-back
motors. Some of you wil have bought a few if the smaller ones, discovering that
customisation of the cars is actually pretty limited. Motorizing existing cars
is quite hard, since the motor is quite a big part to begin with.
In my attempts to obscure the motor, while still having a nice car design to
look at, I eventually came up with this MOC: the Delian.
Its somewhat inspired by the british smaller cars of the 60s, and its pretty
obvious that some of the ancient mini can be seen in in the design. I chose to
make the car 5 studs wide so I could cram a little extra detail in there, and to
make the car a little less square than lego cars at this size usually tend to
be.
Ive included building instructions and a parts list for the folks who still
have a couple of unused motors around. If you try and build one (a big if
here) please try and send me a picture of it, will you?

(note: the dark red parts a can be any color you wish, they arent visible when
the car is finished. Might save you a couple of jumper bricks.)

(Im not horribly original when its about naming images. Sue me :)
Questions? Quibbles? Comments? Want more pictures? Are the instructions clear
enough? Please let me know.

| (...) Peer, I just got done building this. Really neat MOC you've made here. And the pull-back motor makes it that much more playable. My only complaint would be that the instructions are a little dark. The black areas were kinda hard to see. (2 (...) (21 years ago, 29-Sep-03, to lugnet.town, FTX)

| That's a cute car, Peer. I liked it even before I read about the pull-back motor inside. It's great to see an attractive body built around that chassis instead of the garish monstrosities LEGO's been putting out in the Racers line. Bravo. -The Rev. (...)
