Colin and Wanda, the intrepid couple who are in the middle of a world
tour, visited the Greater Midwest LEGO Train Club's layout recently.

It was an adventure from the start, as Colin and Wanda arrived air mail
to Minneapolis, Minnesota, only to be plucked from the mailman's hand
and whisked off to La Crosse, Wisconsin where the club's layout was to
show for the weekend.

Colin and Wanda's visit began when they arrived at the GMLTC train
station.

They first decided to tour the train yard.  Here we can see them posing
next to John Gerlach's mighty Hiawatha steam engine:

Then they inspected the Round House:

Colin and Wanda decided to slum it a little, and hopped aboard a box car
to see where it would take them....

After a while, they hopped out and whom do you suppose showed up to take
them back to the city?  What a really useful engine!

After arriving back in town, Colin and Wanda decided to take in
America's favorite pastime, a game of Baseball.  As they were there, the
Octan blimp passed overhead and provided a spectacular shot of the
ballpark.

After the game, they decided to stroll around town and then visit the
park.  "Let's have a picnic, Colin!" said Wanda, and so they did.

Just as they were really starting to have a good time, trouble arrived.

The biker and his fatboy drove right up in the park and mugged Colin and
Wanda in broad daylight!!  The cheek!

Well, Colin and Wanda had had it with the big city and so decided to
leave for the country where they did a little camping.

Out in the country they visited a farm.  How quaint is was!  As fate
would have it, who should be cruising by but the very same biker and his
gang who had held up Colin and Wanda a few days before.  Wanda alertly
wrote down the thug's license number, which thankfully led to his arrest
and the return of their money tiles.  "All's well that ends well," said
Colin.  "What does that really mean?" asked Wanda.  "I have no idea,"
said Colin, and with that, they headed off to a county fair down the
road.

Colin and Wanda rode the merry-go-round, the giant slide and a many
other rides as well.

This was their last day visiting the GMLTC's layout.  As they boarded
the train to leave for their next adventure, they were sad to leave, for
they had had a wonderful time.  From the entire membership of the GMLTC,
we would like to say "Thanks for coming-- Bon Voyage!"
