MichLUG was happy to display this past weekend at the Motor City ComiCon in
Novi, MI. This is our second time displaying with them and we again had a great
time. We had a complete castle layout, with 2 castles, 1 haunted keep, a
village, a forest, a battle betweem the forces of good and the undead. Our
space layout included many moonbase modules, a landing tower, a monorail
station, a power plant, multiple landing pads, and a capital ship undergoing
repairs.
So take a look at the pictures, read the
report, comment if you
like.

Well, I used to think that our (IndyLUGs) recent layout was really cool.
Now that I see MichLUGs, Im somewhat humbled. You guys have done a superb job
in my 2 favorite themes. Was there any kind of competition, or was everything
just for show?

Thanks, David! Actually, this was not a competition. The two layouts were very
good and a lot of fun to set up. Overall, compared to the GATS layouts that the
club puts on, these were actually very small. MichLUG really does have a lot of
talent when it comes to train layouts. This was the 4th or 5th opportunity that
we have had to put on a space/castle/fantasy layout, and were eager to do more
space/castle layouts since 1/3 of the club are die-hard fans of the two themes.
And it there are soooo many things you can have fun with in a space/fantasy
layout that you cant get away with at a train show.
Im partial to .space myself. Afterall, what else is there, really? ;^D

David,
Dont feel too humbled. Your display looked great! Dont worry that you may
not get many comments online either, Im sure there are many folks like me that
love the MOCs at various shows but just dont speak up. I especially like the
courthouse and the waterfall at your recent show.
