  Re: LEGO Theatrical "trailer"

(...) <snip> Blah, blah, blah. I will freely admit it wasn't the best movie in the world. But I had a really good time at the movies that night, and it wasn't *in spite* of the movie I saw, it was because of it (and, having seen both Bats and (...) (24 years ago, 12-Dec-00, to lugnet.year.2001)

  Re: Battlestar Galactica on Mars?

(...) Hmmm...somehow, I think people would rather drink coffee from "Starbuck's" than from, say, "Queequeg's." However, if anyone wants to market animal feed, I'll propose the name "Call me Fishmeal." :) ack. best Lindsay XFUT -> .o-t.fun (24 years ago, 12-Dec-00, to lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.space, lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: Battlestar Galactica on Mars?

Hm, where's John Ladasky when we need him? :) (...) Where do you think the stars got their names? :) Well, most of them, anyways; Rigel (not "Riegel" or whatever they transliter- ated) is, I think, Arabic in origin as many stellar names are. (...)   Re: LEGO Theatrical "trailer"

Nice going eric, at least you found something to laugh at. From Yahoo Movies (URL) and Dragons (2000) Critics Reviews CNN.com: Dumb & dreadful - "...so poorly executed, you start to feel like you're watching the world's most expensive script (...) (24 years ago, 12-Dec-00, to lugnet.year.2001)

You mean the coffee place isn't named after a BG character? ;^) ~Mark "Muffin Head" Sandlin (24 years ago, 12-Dec-00, to lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.space)

  Re: Battlestar Galactica on Mars?

(...) Actually, Cassiopeia is a constellation of stars... ;) It's a good thing they didn't name any of the characters Zubeneschamali (sp?) -Bryan (24 years ago, 12-Dec-00, to lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.space)

  Re: Battlestar Galactica on Mars?

(...) Actually, I think Centauri is another of the Martians from the theme. Another is Pollux. I have counted 10 different Martian figs. Each one has a different color torso/legs. None of them is repeated from one set to the next if I'm not (...) (24 years ago, 12-Dec-00, to lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.space)

  Re: Battlestar Galactica on Mars?

(...) Nah, They're drawing from two different sources. Life on Mars is naming characters after stars & constellations; BG used names from classic Greek & Roman mythology(1). There's just a lot of cross-over, that's all. James 1:When not naming them (...) (24 years ago, 11-Dec-00, to lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.space)

  Re: Battlestar Galactica on Mars?

jon furman wrote in message ... (...) What's more likely is that both BG and LOM use star and constellation names as character names. Kevin (24 years ago, 11-Dec-00, to lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.space)

  Re: Battlestar Galactica on Mars?

Maybe the aliens are evolved from Battlstar descendents, not knowing how close they wer to Eart. If no one knew about the aliens on Mars, how come they have such...err... NOT RED stuff??? Rick (24 years ago, 11-Dec-00, to lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.space)

  Re: Battlestar Galactica on Mars?

(...) Don't worry, you aren't spoiling the show, it was born rotten! I'm aware of the correlation between the space saga's and the star names, I was just wondering why those names were chosen over names like Polaris or Centauri, is there a (...)   Re: Battlestar Galactica on Mars?

(...) Hm. I hate to spoil your show, but all of the aliens in LoM are named after stars (which is also where Galactica got those names). J (24 years ago, 11-Dec-00, to lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.space)

  Battlestar Galactica on Mars?

Has anyone else noticed the distinct name sharing going on between life on Mars and battlestar galactica, the most horrilbe, yet strangely entertaining, space saga known to man? The air tube hangar comes with minifigs named Riegel, and Cassiopeia. (...) (24 years ago, 11-Dec-00, to lugnet.announce, lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.space)

  Re: Mars Stuff

(...) Actually, given that the larger set is an "excavation" somethingorother, I realised that all the Martian equipment could be interpreted pretty easily as mining equipment, too! eric (24 years ago, 11-Dec-00, to lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.space)

  Mars Stuff

I know a lot of you probably already have some of these sets, or have read comments about them, but I wanted to put in my 2 cents... Personally, I like the new Mars theme. They are lighter in tone than than regular colors, but also have a 'faded' look to them - hence the 'grey'. BTW, (...) (24 years ago, 11-Dec-00, to lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.space)

  Re: LEGO Theatrical "trailer"

(...) My biggest problem with it, as a D&D player (although I haven't been in a campaign for a couple years now), was that the characters didn't act like D&D characters. I mean, I got a good chuckle at a couple of points imagining the interactions (...) (24 years ago, 11-Dec-00, to lugnet.year.2001)
