  Mars Stuff

I know a lot of you probably already have some of these sets, or have read comments about them, but I wanted to put in my 2 cents... Personally, I like the new Mars theme. Sure bets the hell out of things like UFO and Insectoids! Something more (...) (24 years ago, 11-Dec-00, to lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.space)

  Re: MARS INFO!

(...) I've tentatively identified them with the names: Grey-Green - same as Statue of Liberty color(?) Grey-Red Grey-Blue Grey-Purple. They are lighter in tone than than regular colors, but also have a 'faded' look to them - hence the 'grey'. BTW, (...) (24 years ago, 11-Dec-00, to lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.space)

  Re: LEGO Theatrical "trailer"

I saw that too, as a advertisement before "Meet the Parents". Pretty cool, I thought, to see it advertised so mainstream. And a great place to advertise it too. Very precise marketing. Speaking of no Studios newsgroups yet . . . sounds like a good (...) (24 years ago, 11-Dec-00, to lugnet.year.2001)

  Re: LEGO Theatrical "trailer"

(...) My biggest problem with it, as a D&D player (although I haven't been in a campaign for a couple years now), was that the characters didn't act like D&D characters. I mean, I got a good chuckle at a couple of points imagining the interactions (...) (24 years ago, 11-Dec-00, to lugnet.year.2001)

  Re: LEGO Theatrical "trailer"

(...) A movie like that really has big shoes to fill, since it's competing against the imagination of millions (?) over 25+ years! Anything they tried would be bound to disappoint some viewers, I suppose, but I'm glad to hear it wasn't too bad... (...) (24 years ago, 11-Dec-00, to lugnet.year.2001)

Re: Do we have a name for the new figs?

(...) Not bad- FARTs. That could work. Or how about Weak Tiny Figures? (I'm still attached to "suckifigs", though.) (...) Agreed. (...) Good point... but it begs the question: If you really want your aliens to look different then why do they have 2 (...) (24 years ago, 11-Dec-00, to lugnet.build.minifigs, lugnet.year.2001)

  Re: LEGO Theatrical "trailer"

(...) I'd have to say in the movie. Yes, I've seen better, but it wasn't bad. eric (24 years ago, 11-Dec-00, to lugnet.year.2001)

  Re: LEGO Theatrical "trailer"

(...) Were the special effects better in the movie or in the Lego trailer? Dave! (24 years ago, 11-Dec-00, to lugnet.year.2001)

  LEGO Theatrical "trailer"

Hey all.... (I am placing this in lugnet.year.2001 only because there is no lugnet.studios group- since it's moved into a full-blown theme, should there be one?) I went to the movies on Saturday night to see "Dungeons and Dragons". Before the movie (...) (24 years ago, 11-Dec-00, to lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.general)

  Re: MARS INFO!

(...) The picture is the alternate model for LoM 7310 'Mono Jet' - it comes in a small box and not a polybag. So do the Studios 'Camera Man' and 'Stunt Man' sets. But you're right - the stunt man is a bit cheesy. The Mono Jet is worth the small (...) (24 years ago, 11-Dec-00, to lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.space)

  Re: new Technic product shown!

(...) I wouldn't recommend exposing the pneumatics in the LEGO Technic Search Sub (8250/8299) to water. I had some pneumatics when I was a child, and it was all ruined from exposure to water. Perhaps the new style pneumatics is higher quality, (...) (24 years ago, 10-Dec-00, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.technic, lugnet.year.2001)

  Re: new Technic product shown!

(...) Sounds pretty good to me. Lego have already had a fire engine in the Technic range, and people sometimes mistake my red mobile crane for a fire engine, so does that count? :-) I like the idea of an ambulance - what functions would you have in (...)   Re: MARS INFO!

  Re: new Technic product shown!

(...) If you are going to include printed parts, UNICEF 1x3x4 panels in blue. I _think_ that they are amongst the rarest post 1980 pieces made. I haven't a clue as to pre 1980 stuff, esp. for survival. (...) Well, there were around 6K of the panels (...) (24 years ago, 10-Dec-00, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.technic, lugnet.year.2001)

  Re: new Technic product shown!

(...) Well given whats popular how about a technic police car, ambulance, fire truck, rescue team or something. There are lots of emergency service/rescue type toys out there so they must be popular... One thing that I would buy without thinking if (...)   Re: new Technic product shown!

(...) Oddly enough, I do actually agree with you here - I really like it when someone comes up with something that is not a vehicle with Technic. Saying that, it could well be argued that the Star Wars droids are in fact also vehicles, but then that (...) (24 years ago, 10-Dec-00, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.technic, lugnet.year.2001)

  Re: new Technic product shown!

Nope. Definitely don't have that one. I was never that big into the town sets, and stopped getting them around '83... Duq "Carlo Ottolina" <kruntz@tiscalinet.it> wrote in message news:G5Bu8q.Mu7@lugnet.com... (...) it's (...) (24 years ago, 10-Dec-00, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.technic, lugnet.year.2001)

Hi, you might have missed a previous message about three additional S@H exclusive LoM sets 7300-7302. If so, the following posting might be interesting for you as you will find links to more pictures there: (URL) 28 further LEGO sets not yet listed (...)   Re: Do we have a name for the new figs?

(...) Well, there's "mikifigs" (partly in honor of the fact that Senor Raton is built in the same, um, mickeymouse fashion). Since we have CRAPPs and POOPs, how 'bout Figs Absent Redeeming Traits? (...) This is more serious for Martians than for (...) (24 years ago, 10-Dec-00, to lugnet.build.minifigs, lugnet.year.2001)
