Re: Wanted: Images of New Elements

(...) in case anyone missed it. (...) Ah, nuts. I *know* each new mold for a new piece costs LEGO serious cash in design and manufacture, and I *know* therefore they can only do so many in a given year, and I would *DEFINITELY* rather have a (...)   Re: Wanted: Images of New Elements

(...) Uhoh. Well, this means that the mould *and* the colour now coincide...I predict a new flareup of the race-and-LEGO wars soon to come. (Mark this on your calendars.) best Lindsay (PS: Frank, is my email getting to you? Or are you posting from (...) (24 years ago, 29-Nov-00, to lugnet.year.2001)

Re: My thoughts on the 2001 sets (Life on Mars and LEGO Studios)

(...) Correct, excluding which aliens might be in the large set, there is no duplication of aliens. (...) I disagree, I think the new blue in 7313 is the blue in the new range of greyish colors. This light blue is somewhat greyish, but not as grey (...) (24 years ago, 29-Nov-00, to lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.reviews)

Re: My thoughts on the 2001 sets (Life on Mars and LEGO Studios)

Just thought I'd drop in a few comments of my own, having grabbed a couple of Life on Mars sets from the local TRU. First off, some overall comments about the theme - looks like LEGO is getting its groove back. These models are interesting, (...) (24 years ago, 29-Nov-00, to lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.reviews)

My thoughts on the 2001 sets (Life on Mars and LEGO Studios)

I've built a bunch of the 2001 sets, I've got all but the largest sets in these two themes (7317 was not to be found in my local stores and since I don't have a USB port, I will be waiting to buy 1349 until I can get it on sale). I haven't built all (...) (24 years ago, 29-Nov-00, to lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.reviews) !

Re: Wanted: Images of New Elements

(...) Cool, a brown head. I can foresee that this head might see a lot of Sharpie use from those willing to deface parts... Frank (24 years ago, 29-Nov-00, to lugnet.year.2001)

Re: Wanted: Images of New Elements

(...) Here ya go. Including that controversial white armour guy. ;) He's even got printing front & back (pretty uncommon, I think). (URL) didn't notice any new parts in the Explosion studio, nor any other new parts in the TIE or Droid Escape. Pic 9 (...) (24 years ago, 29-Nov-00, to lugnet.year.2001)

Do we have a name for the new figs?

I can't imagine that this hasn't been discussed, but I don't see anything on it. Now that the battle droid bodies are being used for the martians, I expect that they are here to stay. Hence, we need a general name for the whole class of figures. I (...) (24 years ago, 29-Nov-00, to lugnet.build.minifigs, lugnet.year.2001)

Re: Wanted: Images of New Elements

(...) "What? I thought they were through with the Aquazone theme!" Boy, I'll just have to get rid of those, maybe give them to my sister's dog to bury...(I can see the SW fanatics cringing right now...muuuhahaha...at least I didn't suggest (...) (24 years ago, 28-Nov-00, to lugnet.year.2001)

Re: Wanted: Images of New Elements

(...) I'll endeavor to post pics tonight to brickshelf with the new parts I've noticed from the sets I have. (TIE, Droid Escape, & Exploion Studio) Mostly that will be the 1/4 round wall, the 1/4 round plate & the TIE stand. Oh yeah, I think the TIE (...) (24 years ago, 28-Nov-00, to lugnet.year.2001)

Re: Wanted: Images of New Elements

Perhaps I can manage this tonight for most of the Mars and movie sets. I see a bunch of possibly new colors, and some previously Scala or Belville only colors. There's a ton of new parts, including a new flex hose which I think will prove more (...) (24 years ago, 28-Nov-00, to lugnet.year.2001)

  Wanted: Images of New Elements

Hi all, Short, but hopefully sweet, request for someone out there (who may already have done this!), from a 'Murican drooling from Europe: Could someone who has the new sets, and would be willing to compile a representative sample of new System (...)   Re: BIONICLE!

(...) Yes, I see some Castle potential in this line. (...) Visit (URL) and look at the little guys on the bottom. Totally nonfunctional, but perhaps some parts value (if you like large strange weapons) If you want scary pointed objects to poke (...)   Re: 2001 - The year we don't pay retail

(...) Sure, it's been discussed. The general conclusion in the past has been that we're not a significant enough market segment to make a difference. Now, with things changing and Lego actually paying attention to the adult fans, that might not be (...) (24 years ago, 28-Nov-00, to lugnet.year.2001)

  Re: BIONICLE!

The last two have limbs that might be interesting for castle lego. (you could create an elf hero with a magical green axe, for instance). Kopaka's head might be useful for some space MOCs. That ugly flame SPUD *might* be useful as ornamentation in (...) (24 years ago, 28-Nov-00, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.year.2001)

Jude Beaudin wrote in message ... (...) more (...) more (...) Store sales send no message to Lego, since the discount comes out of the store's profit, they pay Lego the same price whatever they retail it for. And how many of us pay retail anyway? I (...)   Re: 2001 - The year we don't pay retail

Re: 2001 - The year we don't pay retail

(...) I would have to agree with Adrian. This isn't a real difficult challange for me. Being a parts fan, and not so much a set fan, buying on discount has become the standard. Like Adrian though I do occasionally buy at full retail if I have a (...) (24 years ago, 27-Nov-00, to lugnet.year.2001)

Re: 2001 - The year we don't pay retail
