  Re: Pics from ToyFair 2005

(...) Search back in LUGNET, this has been discussed at some length. Briefly, LEGO is using flesh for figs based on real people or on movie characters (which are played by real people) and retaining yellow for generic people. That's not a very good (...)   Re: Pics from ToyFair 2005

(...) Yes! (...) I think there are a lot of nifty new pieces coming too! (...) I noted that too. (...) I packed some chewing gum, so we'll just see what happens. Supposedly it's not illegal any more but if you get notes from prison, you'll know why! (...) (20 years ago, 22-Feb-05, to lugnet.year.2005)

  Re: Pics from ToyFair 2005

Greetings all, New poster here. While looking at Lar's pix from Toy Fair, I noticed that Lego had moved the minifigs in the Harry Potter theme from traditional LEGO yellow "skin" color to colors intended to more realistically match the actors (...) (20 years ago, 22-Feb-05, to lugnet.year.2005)

  Re: Pics from ToyFair 2005

(...) Should be easy enough even for an average-skilled builder to work around. What concern me more are the other parts there- the boiler half is pretty useless, and don't even get me started on the cab (SOLID??!!) eww. And yeah, Larry, that is (...)   Re: Pics from ToyFair 2005

(...) It would be much easier is the face disk was a separate piece from the rest of the boiler. But it looks like the face is part of a single front piece. Check out the bottom right inset picture on this box art. (URL) are four engine pieces to (...) (20 years ago, 22-Feb-05, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.year.2005)

  Re: Pics from ToyFair 2005

(...) Hey Lar, Great set of pics. I had to wait til Monday so I could look through them at work with a higher res. tube than here at home on my laptop. I was very happy to note you made sure to focus (mainly) in on some of the new parts which are on (...) (20 years ago, 21-Feb-05, to lugnet.year.2005)

  Re: Pics from ToyFair 2005

(...) I can't speak for Samarth, but I was thinking of just that, because it's a LEGO face... no more non LEGO or stickers or whatever. (20 years ago, 21-Feb-05, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.year.2005)

  Re: Pics from ToyFair 2005

(...) Awe, the heck w/ the ISD build. Let's make 2005 the year of the Death Star!!! Adr. (20 years ago, 21-Feb-05, to lugnet.year.2005)

  Re: Pics from ToyFair 2005

(...) First, THANK YOU for posting these pictures! I'm already drooling over some of these new sets, and that hasn't happened in a while. 2005 looks like it should be a good year for LEGO and AFOLs. 2nd, I think we'd have to handicap a LUGNET team (...)   Re: Pics from ToyFair 2005

(...) This line in my original email may be unclear. It is my hope that the licensing contract Lego signed with the Thomas owners (Britt Alcroft?) does not limit LEGO to producing Thomas sets only in Duplo scale. I would like to see 9V System Thomas (...) (20 years ago, 21-Feb-05, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.year.2005)

  Re: Pics from ToyFair 2005

(...) Yes, with these, we'll have the correct LEGO elements necessary to pull it off. People were doing ATSF warbonnets and BNSF units long before the official sets came out, but their appearance made things a lot easier for kitbash purposes. In (...)   Re: Pics from ToyFair 2005

Samarth Moray @gmail.com> wrote in message ... (...) kitbashed (...) but in (...) Many many MOC versions of Thomas and his friends already exist for 9v and 12v, in 6 wide and probably wider. Or are you specifically thinking of taking the Duplo (...) (20 years ago, 21-Feb-05, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.year.2005)

  Re: Pics from ToyFair 2005

(...) Here you can see the released version: (URL) yes, it is the one from the box. I must say; it is a great build and nicely detailed. But my 6361 Mobile crane is afraid of it! Mark "so is my dragon" de Kock (20 years ago, 21-Feb-05, to lugnet.year.2005)

  Re: Pics from ToyFair 2005

(...) Don't see it making much of a difference. I'm pretty sure they can be kitbashed into 8-wide scale, at least, if not 6. You might yet see it on 9V track, but in MOC form. Legoswami (20 years ago, 21-Feb-05, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.year.2005)

  Re: Pics from ToyFair 2005

I'm surprised there has not been more discussion about the Thomas license. DUPLO Thomas shots (URL) is a considerable amount of DUPLO track in my house. And I'm sure my 10 month old daughter will enjoy running Thomas on the track. So when will (...) (20 years ago, 21-Feb-05, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.year.2005)

  Re: Pics from ToyFair 2005

(...) Yes. That's why I took the pics, as this is a released set in the US and I have one on order. I skipped taking a lot of pics of most of the released sets. I think/hope the box (bigger 6 hole wheels, but fewer of them) reflects the production (...) (20 years ago, 21-Feb-05, to lugnet.year.2005)

  Re: Pics from ToyFair 2005

(...) Looking at the construction/town sets, I have one question...which crane is the release version? There seems to be a built model, and a box for the set, and the two are completely different vehicles (look at the wheels for a start.) Benjamin (...) (20 years ago, 21-Feb-05, to lugnet.year.2005)

It's in the 2005 Product Guide they gave me (which doesn't have (...) (20 years ago, 21-Feb-05, to lugnet.year.2005)

  Re: Pics from ToyFair 2005

(...) I missed that completely, I have no idea. Sorry!!!! Was wondering why they weren't on display but forgot to ask. I was pretty sick, unfortunately, so was not operating on all 8 cylinders. (20 years ago, 21-Feb-05, to lugnet.year.2005)

  Re: Pics from ToyFair 2005

(...) No. They only had the smaller Enzo, not the space frame (ala SuperCar) one. Unless I missed it. I didn't get many pics of the smaller one because it's released product. The reason I took any pics of released product at all (unless I forgot) is (...) (20 years ago, 21-Feb-05, to lugnet.year.2005)
