I just got the Lego S@H catalog. With the bold colors and prominent placement of
the new Advanced Designer copter, jet boat, and truck I started thinking this
was a particularly good lineup (following up the return-to-basics movement in
Designer!) Someone said, nobody analyses every page these days like we used to.
This catalog, maybe we ought to.

If you count trains, Town has almost three whole spreads. The Police HQ is not
too yucky, in fact the double slope pieces with corrugated in between looks
quite distinctive. Even the graying police chief figure seems to say "we're not
just Jr anymore." (I appreciate Jack Stone's new name.)

Observation: Lego's separate lines don't seem so rigidly organized into the one
box per price point. I can't keep track there are so many great-looking
Adventurers sets out now! Yet other lines have exactly three or four sets.

Advanced Designer: I want to call these Air Buster, Sea Buster, Land Buster (: I
might have missed out, but, there are curved plates that fit over the curved
"iMac" slopes now? And there are a lot more "iMac" slopes everywhere! The whole
front of the copter! Look, gobs of red castle windows in that thing! Look, the
red steep slope corner! Speaking of corners, there are many colors of them in
production. Tantalizing! Land buster: click hinge plates? wow!

The gun on the AT-AT cockpit is a monkey wrench. Heh.

Technic: alive? returning to basics?

Holy Bionicle Batman! These guys have so many curves and edges, they look like
anime fan wallpaper! My eye just does not know where to rest. Definitely no
bricks here, it's all eye candy.

And the catalog doesn't peter out--last spread, space discovery. Bam! Gives the
impression that Lego had "and one more thing..." in mind.

Go on, scrutinize a page for the new parts...

P.S. I have not been hands-on with much Lego in the past year so my "new part
sense" is a little wobbly.

Could you please (if you can) provide scans of the popular lines in the
catalog? (I am especially looking for the World City, Trains, Descovery,
Technic). Here in Canada we get the summer catalog later in the year (aprox. by
the end of July to early August and sometimes we don't even get a summer
catalog). I also want to see it because the US catalog is always different from
the one shipped to Canada.
So if you could provide scans of the catalog, it would be really great and I
would appreciate that.
