(...) There is no relation at all. They are a true mystery, because they look more like something between Duplo and System (yet Duplo can work with System!). I hope this hasn't been mentioned before. I'm not thrilled about the Racers sets, but figure those who are need to know. The 48x48 gray baseplate got a new number once. I was able to buy several hundred at clearance prices because they had the old discontinued number on them.
