(...) *shrug* I don't see any grey in it at all. Plus, verdi means green -- verdigris literally comes from the phrase "green of Greece". (And both dictionaries I looked in said so.) (25 years ago, 6-Nov-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.year.2001)

(...) If they don't get an accurate picture from the dictionary, that's the dictionary's fault. Verdigris isn't actually a hugely variable shade -- it's just that colors are hard to describe/define in words. Luckily, the definitions in the (...)
