In case people missed this since it was announced to .contests only...

This may well be the most ambitious (and richest, broadest, and potentially the
funnest) contest ever staged in the LEGO world that wasn't put on by LEGO
itself (and it surely exceeds many contests that LEGO put in with their 100
dollar prizes).

I don't believe I've ever seen such an august panel of judges, either.

Hats off to René for all the hard work and effort (and expense!) he's put
into this behind the scenes. (We judges were sworn to secrecy but I think I
can safely reveal that it's been a LOT of work on his part so far)

So you really should consider entering in one or more of the categories.
Let's make this the largest fan contest ever! I am seriously planning an
entry!(Judges are not eligible to enter the theme they judge but can enter
other themes...)

Wouldn't it be cool if there was an awards ceremony and showcase at
BricksWest(tm) for those that could attend??

In lugnet.build.contests, René Hoffmeister writes:
Hello@all!

From Monday, your creativity should run wild for the 1st International
SYSTEM Creativity Contest (ISCC).

In addition to the fun you’ll have by building, you have the chance to win
one of 12 great prizes, still sealed LEGO® sets like #6086 Black Knight's
Castle, #6280 Armada Flagship or #6559 Deep Sea Bounty. And taking part is
all that counts: all participants will entered in a drawning for two
additional prizes, #6975 is one of them!

To make this contest not only “international” by name, but also
“international” by realization and appearance, a jury with members from all
over the world was picked:

Mario Ferrari, Larry Pieniazek, Reinhard Beneke, Shiri Dori, Kevin Wilson,
Javier Teulon, Richard Parsons, Bernhard Straub, Nico Beaumont, Jacob Sparre
Andersen, Frank Buiting, Michel Brachmond, Jacek Jodziewicz, Christian
Lindblad Rasmussen, Frank Filz, Niels Horn, Luc van Landeghem, Jaeseok Lee,
Huw Millington, Francis Balfourier, Chris Painter, Dennis Bosman, Jennifer
Clark, Rene Virsik, Jon Furman, Robert Kreisinger, Hanno-Dirk Lemke.
Thanks to all of them for taking on this job!

The rules are simple and available in English, German, French (soon),
Italian, Dutch, Norwegian and Spanish (soon).
Thanks to Larry Pieniazek, Alan Demlow, Francis Balfourier, Willy Tschager,
Mario Ferrari, Frank Buiting, Michael Peters and Nico Beaumont for the
translation work.

See http://www.creativity-contest.net/ for further details!

Maybe you want to support this project with one of the neat graphics from

LET'S HAVE A LOT OF FUN TOGETHER, WE'RE WAITING FOR YOUR ENTRIES :-)

(...) So who judges the entries made by the judges? Just curious. (23 years ago, 20-Oct-01, to lugnet.build.contests)
