Re: When was GMLTC started? (was: Re: For the history books -- LUG & LTC dates of formation)

(...) Why exactly? (both senses...) That is, exactly why do you need to know this, and why does it have to be exact? Would the year be good enough? GMLTC started from one guy and his uncle who loved LEGO and grew from there. It's the granddaddy of (...)   When was GMLTC started? (was: Re: For the history books -- LUG & LTC dates of formation)

(...) Would anyone happen to know an exact date for either of those? (...) I guess what I'm looking for is the exact date on which GMLTC started calling itself GMLTC (i.e., that it became that entity, however informally) and also, if known, the date (...)   Re: For the history books -- LUG & LTC dates of formation

(...) OK, thanks! Updated: (URL) was WAMALUG officially formed then? I've got November 15, 1999 as the earliest seen mention of the name. How close is July 16, 1999 to the official formation date of NOVALTC? Thanks, --Todd (24 years ago, 7-Oct-00, to lugnet.org, lugnet.org.us, lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.org.us.wamalug)

Re: For the history books -- LUG & LTC dates of formation

(...) well, not quite. NOVALTC changed it's name in nov '99 to WAMALUG. WAMALTC was created June, 21, 2000... :) (24 years ago, 7-Oct-00, to lugnet.org, lugnet.org.us, lugnet.trains.org)

For the history books -- LUG & LTC dates of formation

I am starting a list of local users group and clubs. I want it to be as complete as possible and for the history books (and, aw heck, for charts and graphs someday) I'd like to include the official dates of formation of each group/club. As a first (...) (24 years ago, 7-Oct-00, to lugnet.org, lugnet.org.us, lugnet.org.ca, lugnet.org.au, lugnet.org.nl, lugnet.org.it, lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.loc.jp, lugnet.announce) !!

  Re: Train Windows

(...) The one I have seen on shelves has been the one with the soccer ball (with the exclusion of the LEGO Imagination Center). So for most people they the non-soccer ball bus set are S@H only. Each version runs the same price.... Mike (24 years ago, 3-Oct-00, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.general)

  Re: Which to collect - 4.5v, 9v, 12v

(...) You can still buy 4561 and 4565 in regular retail stores (for 4561 only I think), or through the Shop at Home catalog. Since you can still get them, and since LEGO has not publicly stated that they are no longer making 9v trains (or did I miss (...) (24 years ago, 3-Oct-00, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.trains.org)

  Re: Which to collect - 4.5v, 9v, 12v

(...) Aren't all the 9v sets discontinued also? KL (24 years ago, 3-Oct-00, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.trains.org)

  Re: Which to collect - 4.5v, 9v, 12v

(...) Mr. Watson, As you may well know, the 4.5 and 12V sets are no longer offered by LEGO. 9V sets are by far the most reliable, but LEGO could have been more imaginative in designing these sets (the popular notion is that LEGO 'juniorized' the 9V (...) (...) busses. (...) soccerball/football? I (...) Ah! But do the four sets mentioned above still cost $20? That'd be a shame. Also, are they available @ retail outlets or only through S@H? I've only seen 3411 on the shelves. Dave! (24 years ago, 3-Oct-00, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.general)
