I am sure most other clubs have the same issues. Wires run everywhere and power strips are inadequate. If you have a standard strip with 6 plugs we are lucky if we can use 3. So they get chained together all over the place.

Not any more. We have found a new 6 plug power strip that works with 6 wall warts!

This means that we will be able to do a layout with 2-3 of these instead of 5-6 of the old poorly set up power strips chained together.

Obviously we got this one at Ace hardware as a store brand. I am sure there must be others around. Bring your cables under control!

While on the subject of power suppies. It’s been mentioned in the past by others, but I recomend swapping in a slightly beefier transformer to run your trains. The LEGO train power controller can output upto 1 amp, but most of the wallwarts are limeted to .7 amps. Ironiclly a 9v or 10v will run better, as the regulator won’t have to drop as much voltage, and will therefor run cooler as well. http://www.jameco.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10001&catalogId=10001&productId=227483&pa=227483PS http://www.jameco.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10001&catalogId=10001&productId=102234&pa=102234PS
