Dear Rob,
thanks for your efforts concerning the container swap! But for the next year I
would suggest an earlier invitation and call for partizipants. I know the ILTCO
is so far more or less US dominated (I even suggested to call it therefor ALTCO
at another time), and in this case it has been really hard to join the
activities for foreingners once again. When the deadline is set so short ahead
in the future, you always have to have the average shipping time from outside
the US in mind....
Speaking for the FGLTC, there have now 14 new containers been sent (as priority
mail) - and when the postal service works like it is meant to do AND if the
custom is not interested in my package too much, it should arrive just in time,
but I really had to hurry up to manage that.
For now, one can definitely take the WWLTC out of the swap list: I talked with
the 3 guys that run that club and since they are newbies, they would have been
forced to build up to 30 containers. They saw no chance to do this within less
then 5 days, since there would be no chance to get the amount of needed
2x2-tiles within that time (And ITLUG and EJLTC might suffer under the same
problems).
If there is a future swap, please hold in mind that we foreigners need two extra
weeks for shipping (or better even 6 weeks in order to be able to ship as
cheaper surface mail....
This is really not meant as complaint about anybody in person (and definitely
not against you, Rob - I appreciate the work you put into mail answering and
organization work! THANKS!)
But if the ILTCO shall become an international platform, please give us
foreigners a fair chance to mix in.
Leg Godt!
Ben
