| | Re: Hobby Train - the no future train....
|
| (...) Hi Ram, I think, I am quite familiar with the things one can expect from LEGO. I do not understand all the optimism here in Lugnet concerning the new kids trains. The nowadays 9V train stuff is available in 99% of all toy retail shops in (...) (19 years ago, 8-Jan-06, to lugnet.trains)

| (...) FWIW, on the page it's "Night", and "bogey". I will probably be ordering my EN today, and am too considering options. I have quite a mix of 9V and RC stuff (in fact, about 1/2 the Lego trains back to 1980) Probably I will suck it up and buy (...) (15 years ago, 30-Nov-09, to lugnet.trains)

| | Re: End of 9V Trains protest layout idea
|
| (...) Hi Bob, that assumption is not perfectly correct. In October 2006 a single 12V engine (powered by 2 motors) has pulled this 100 waggons train. (URL) A few months earlier we have made this attempt with a 9V engine pulling 61 cars. But we had (...) (17 years ago, 23-Oct-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

| (...) In May, I made a test (based on your information): (URL) loco (built after set 112-2) pulled 20 two-axle "oldschool" cars. 11 of them had the old wheels with traction teeth, 6 had various spoked wheels (years 1969-1990) and 3 had the (...) (17 years ago, 23-Oct-07, to lugnet.trains)

| (...) Hi, welcome to train the 9-12V regulator? are you talking the black and yellow think that come with 9V trains? feeding light with this regulator is "feasable", you'll have to make a wire to connect to old 12V connector with the new 9V one (...) (25 years ago, 26-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains)

I don't necessarily run my trains very fast, I just usually have 5-7 pieces of rolling stock hooked on back of the freight trains. I (...) (15 years ago, 4-Apr-09, to lugnet.trains)

| (...) Good question - depending on my former tests, I would guess, that short 4-wheel waggons (like the lightweight barrel waggon from set 2126) with not more than 6 studs distance from wheel block to wheel block offer the lower running resistance. However, your layout will work - electrically. I am somewhat curious how you plan to set the (...) (17 years ago, 16-Dec-07, to lugnet.trains)
