Has anyone else had a play with making brakes for a particular lego car?

I've been bashing around this evening with small Pn. cylinders, and gears, and
a bunch of other parts, and think I have come up with a workable (but boxcar
sized) solution to fitting brakes.  It takes 2 small pn. cylinders/car, and is
only really for a brake van I am building, but I was wondering if anyone else
had had a play with brakes?

Also, whist playing with this, Ben, I think I came up with a way to power the
wheels without having the axle being the problem...it does take up most of the
space inside however, and would take 7 wide I think to make turns possible with
a motor mounted...but it is possible.

Key is to not use the lego bolsters, but to build up ones using the 2x2
macaroni bricks :)

(I'll post pics when I finish)

James
