Hello!

Came up with a switch thingy this morning that may interest you. I used a
touch sensor brick on a 9V train track which is pressed by the “Electric Train
Motor 9V Decorative Side” [2871.dat]  when the train engine passes it (if you
don’t understand this check out:

http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=15062.

I don’t have an RCX but do have the Barcode Scanner, and by using this you
could make a pretty cool little program for your train! Eg. You could hook up
the BS to your track* and scan a program which  tells the the train to
stop/slow down/speed up for a certain period of time when the sensor is
pressed. Combined with the “puff” sound this should be pretty cool. Haven’t
had the time to try this one out yet so I’d appreciate your feedback.

Play Well!

Wessel

*Has anyone ever tried powering the Barcode Scanner by means of a Speed
Regulator (e.g. by cutting of one of the contact-bricks of a power cord and
putting the wires on the battery-contacts of the Barcode Scanner)? I’d like to
try it but don’t want to wreck my Barcode Scanner! Please, let me know if you
have any experience in this area!
