It is possible to place the wheels one hole from the end, leaving one hole in
the middle free, and having half a stuff at the ends. In my world, that
gives a nice bogie design. My idea was to attach a 1x7 thin technic beam
(32065) in front of it attached with a Technic pin (e.g. 2780), but the
wheel is a bit thincker than half a stud. A thin beam with an axle hole in
the middle would be > good, but that does not exist.
So, any ideas?

Pressing the studs of a Technic Rotor 2 Blade with 2 Studs (2711) or a Technic
Rotor 2 Blade with 4 Studs (32124) in the holes of the 1x7 beam would give you
your desired centered axle hole, and in case of the 2711 part, some interesting
texture to the support beam also.
