Jonathan,
Glad that you were able to grab some 10133s while LEGO had them. This is pure speculation, but I would guess that we're going to see the present generation of 9V sets scaled back as LEGO brings in the new Hobby Train factory set to serve as the 9V train line. I think the website at http://factory.lego.com/trains/ hints of things to come. It seems that battery trains are selling well enough that LEGO is compelled to produce some accessories for them as well, as noted in the upcoming 2007 sets. The Brickfest keynote said that LEGO hoped to provide information on the Hobby Train in January or February, with release in March. I've also read that a new version of LDD will be released near March, so perhaps these events will be concurrent.
