Thanks, J-3! Hmmm. Well, I tried using just the flex tubing, but that wasn’t enough support (even with copper wire inside it). So, I would say that, as designed, I couldn’t do without the rods. In order to be “pure”, I’d have to completely redesign the trees with a brick (probably 4x4) spine for strength. And they’d probably be built in sections.

That much designing for a simple tree will have to wait until I go 12 wide;-)
