SCLTC opens its third consecutive winter engagement at the San Diego Model Railroad Museum today. The new layout features an oceanfront with extensive undersea view, hotel, aerial balloons, lighthouse, and 90 inch arch bridge. On display at the museum for the first time is Area 51, the newly remodeled auto show room, and a new town area. Popular returning items include the Interrail Station, SCTLC Building, Crystal Towers hotel with 8 working elevators, Art Deco skyscraper, automated light rail system, 120 inch cable-stayed bridge, and renovated city boulevard. The layout covers the club’s largest footprint ever at the museum and, as in the past, includes areas that will grow and change during the exhibit.

The display is open to museum visitors Tuesday through Friday from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM now through January 15, 2005. Admission to the museum is $5.00 for adults and free for children under 15. The display will also be open free to the pulbic during this year’s December Nights.

The San Diego Model Railroad Museum (http://www.sdmodelrailroadm.com) is the premier model railroad museum in the United States. It features a variety of popular model railroad gauges and has been a fixture in Balboa Park for almost 25 years.

The Southern California LEGO Train Club (www.scltc.org) is an association of LEGO builders from San Diego to Bakersfield.

(...) Ted, I'm forwording this to the SandLUG group as well. We had a couple of SandLug members that have contributed to the layout that I wanted to thank. Hopefully they'll join the SCLTC as well. John Cooper contributed his LUGNET blimp launch. (...) (20 years ago, 23-Nov-04, to lugnet.trains.org.scltc, lugnet.org.us.sandlug, lugnet.loc.us.ca.sd, FTX)
