I use two individual light bulbs. The kind that come in the train light
service pack with black "t-shaped" brick.
These light bulb 1x2 bricks with the light bulb facing forward fit nicely into
the side-hole of a technic beam. A 1x1x1 clear round fits nicely into the
side-hole on the other side.
The two light bulb 1x2 bricks are one above the other. However, there is one
2x8 conducting plate and two 1x2 conducting plates between the two stacked
light bulb 1x2 bricks. The three conducting plates electricly connect the two
bulbs while the 2x8 conducting plate extends beneath the minifigure in the
engineer's cab. The 2x8 conducting plate is connected to the battery box via a
short 2x2 to 2x2 connecting wire.
