No offense... After all opinions are like noses or some other body part...

Vital body part;-)

I like the 8-wide as the proportions work out better.

Well, you are preaching to the choir here when you talk about 8 wide:-) Actually, I have a half-finished Thomas that is 10 wide that utilizes BBB wheels-- I’m waiting for Ben to mold them in blue!

I realize the wheels look to small but this one is 100% Lego Except for the face paint and soon to follow #1 decal.

Just so you know-- those red wheels on my Thomas are also LEGO; my only non-LEGO part is the face...

If Lego was to make a 6 wide I think they designed the motor to accept a side decoration with a dead center wheel. At least the indentation is in the right spot and the measurements work out perfect.

Hard to say whether they’d design him with a motor or not. I would think “no”, because a motor automatically tacks $25 onto the price of the set. My version could probably meet a $19.99 price point pretty easily.

It’s all academic anyway as tomorrow or the next day someone will build a better one and if you’ve ever worked with the Thomas people you’d know that the odds of Lego working out a deal with then are slim and none.

Really? From the looks of the marketplace, it appears to me that Thomas is virtually ubiquitous and that licensing wouldn’t be a problem at all.

JOHN
