NELUG continued its tradition of doing a new layout that includes some really
new stuff including our goal of adding lots of automation to the layout. For
this layout that included an animated King Kong climbing a sky scraper. This
was put together by Mike Crowley and Kong is constructed primarily out of
Bionicle parts.
There is a short movie of Kong in action including several pictures covering
most of the layout. Of course we were extremely popular and the show has
taken to trying to find us a new location because we are almost to popular.
We pack so many people around the layout that we create some serious traffic
jams wherever we are. We also found out that most venders want to be near us
(especially the toy venders) because we create so much traffic for their
tables.

Thanks for posting this, Eric. If anyone would like to see more photos and
short clips of Kong and some of the other animated features of this section of
the display, I’ve put up a page
