Thanks to Ben Beneke I learned these two things at BrickFest PDX: 1) A German counter-part to the fabled Santa Fe style warbonnett locomotive is the German DB v200 or v220(?). 2) 7-wide is beautiful ;-) Here's my first go at the (URL) DB v200/v220 (...) (...) I should have put a (URL) link to pics of the real-life DB v200>. And, here is a rendering of the v200 build which uses four more of the hard-to-find rare 6-wide split windscreen in black. To find 6 of those black windscreens...ugh. (...) (...) (21 years ago, 4-Mar-04, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: German DB v200/v220 Loc OR What I learned at BrickFest PDX

(...) I like this MOC, James, especially your use of the half rounds on the nose and the tapering roof. Not that I have any ax to grind, but I was thinking, after having viewed the prototype, that this loco might be a nice 8wide project. You could (...) (21 years ago, 4-Mar-04, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

(...) Hello James, thanks for your kind feedback concerning the "Schleimers'" portland trip! (...) The naming has been updated at some time. V200 abd BR220 are the same engines as far as I know. (...) Thanks for calling my attention to the unofficial parts I used. My bad form to not include the .dat files for those unofficial parts. I all too easily forget that they're not in the official parts library for those who download the .mpd. Sorry (...) (21 years ago, 5-Mar-04, to lugnet.trains)

(...) Ah don't worry about it... it's not hard to find them if they're in Parts Tracker! (1) the only one that really took any digging was the 10024 windshield part because I had to dig it out of the posted model. (...) Indeed they are. You can get (...) (21 years ago, 5-Mar-04, to lugnet.trains)

Re: German DB v200/v220 Loc OR What I learned at BrickFest PDX

(...) Yeah, and I just realized that I've got an interference problem where this windscreen is to attach to the top of the nose of the v200. I didn't notice that the underside of the windscreen is not modeled true to the small stud placement on the (...) (21 years ago, 5-Mar-04, to lugnet.trains)
