End of the line for the Metroliner?

I was looking at some Metroliner items on eBay this weekend and thought I'd
check out shop at home to give me a guide price. Imagine the shock when it
turned out that 10002 (the bi-level coach) is no longer available! 10001 (the
metroliner) is still available at the moment.

Is this the begining of the end for the metroliner legend? I guess it had to
happen sooner or later and will doubtless make a reappearance in the future, but
it seems a shame as its by far and away the best set available at the moment
(certainly in my eyes) and is the only set to have ever come close to 7740.

It's appeal for me is that it's stacked with great parts and you can turn it
into almost anything - the Santa Fe stuff is great and undoubtedly a better
model for realism - but I don't think it has the same potential to be
customised.

Does anyone know what the situation is? I'm just wondering if I should buy a
couple before they disappear?

Andy
