The Uhlenbrock DCC decoders do not work with LDCC!!!
I bought an Uhlenbrock 73500 decoder which fitted nicely
into the LEGO train motor, but I discovered some problems
using it: I could read the registers, but not write.
I sometimes lost contact with the decoder, i.e. it continued
at the same speed even after a stop command.
I sendt an email to Uhlenbrock and got this answer:
* Dear Mr Waadeland,
*
* the 9V voltage are not enough for the 73500.
* ( for programming and driving )
*
* Kind Regards
* Your Uhlenbrock Service Team
Later I got confirmed that this applies to all their decoders.
If I understand the NMRA DCC standard right, a DCC decoder
should work down to 7 V. (?) So, even if they say their
decoders are "multi-protocol" and DCC compliant, they ain't.
