I'm still trying to recover from three days of BrickFest!
So many MOCs, so many great people, so much fun. If you've never been to an
AFOL event like this, I'd highly recommend it.
It was a treat to meet so many .trains folks. I had several people ask me
"which John are you, 1, 2 or 3?", obviously they're aware of our little club and
some of the personalities in it.
The train layout was a huge hit, and had a great location right inside the front
door of the building. It was filled with activity, buildings, vehicles and
minifigs. But I'm still confused, why is the airport named after Homer Simpson?
*grin*
Rob, nice work with the LEDs. I think you're crazy, and brilliant.
I'm going to be hearing "space! space!" in my head for weeks. I think .trains
needs to start invading .space - I can envision a moonbase module train station
and 'space train'.
Thanks to Ken and Jake for helping out with the judging of the train MOCs. It
was a very difficult process trying to pick winners out of such a great
assortment of models.
Thanks to Larry for his help getting me out to D.C. And congrats to Nick for
his huge stash of soccer balls!
Kudos to the RTLToronto gang for their efforts with all technology issues,
including the webcast and webcams. Nice work, guys!
Finally, HUGE Thanks to Christina and all the other volunteers for their efforts
in putting on a great event. I'm already looking forward to next year! (but,
how about leaving at least one loop of track with clearance for 8-wide trains??)
