Stefan,

Thanks for testing it out for me on the switches...glad to hear it works.
Adjusting the levers can be a little tricky...not sure if adjusting would
help where you mentioned there was friction or not.  I have had several
suggestion so far about what clear parts are out there. Thanks to everyone
who has made me aware of these parts. I will have to check into them.

Hope you have fun running the hand car on your track!

John

Hi John,

I love the way your car looks!  I tried putting one together last night - I'm
*almost* convinced that the size can be squeezed down to 4x8, with either of
our cars, as long as some creativity goes into it.

I did have a problem with the lever-method, though ... unfortunately, it seems
that the ends of the levers don't fit through the gaps in a crossing track
pieces (the little ball is a bit too wide).

I think one might be able to use a pair (or 4?) of the 1x2 panel pieces
(www.peeron.com/inv/parts/4865), mounted upside down to guide the car.  I was
able to figure out the correct spacing, which isn't intuitive - now to make it
more sturdy?  Or perhaps there's another piece that might do the job as well.

Looking great!

Hey there Shawn, Great idea about the use of the panels! I will look into trying that. So it will go through a switch but not a cross track? Hmmm...how to convince Lego to make a train wheel that will fit a technic axle?...imagine the possibilities! (...) (22 years ago, 20-Mar-03, to lugnet.trains)
