Hi John,
I love the way your car looks! I tried putting one together last night - I'm
*almost* convinced that the size can be squeezed down to 4x8, with either of
our cars, as long as some creativity goes into it.
I did have a problem with the lever-method, though ... unfortunately, it seems
that the ends of the levers don't fit through the gaps in a crossing track
pieces (the little ball is a bit too wide).
I think one might be able to use a pair (or 4?) of the 1x2 panel pieces
(www.peeron.com/inv/parts/4865), mounted upside down to guide the car. I was
able to figure out the correct spacing, which isn't intuitive - now to make it
more sturdy? Or perhaps there's another piece that might do the job as well.
Looking great!

| Hey there Shawn, Great idea about the use of the panels! I will look into trying that. So it will go through a switch but not a cross track? Hmmm...how to convince Lego to make a train wheel that will fit a technic axle?...imagine the possibilities! (...) (22 years ago, 20-Mar-03, to lugnet.trains)
