Version 0.12 out!

http://home.swipnet.se/simlego/ldraw/ltrax/

Many improvements, but still no mouse support.
Undo bug fixed, but now I have a new bug: If you move around the menus
several times, they will get very strange characters.

I would like help on making the tracks that I don't own, both .dat mockups
and LTrax .txt and .mnu data files. When it comes to monorail, I'm
completely lost. And suggestions on how to deal with non-track objects, like
roadplates, stations et c.

And comments!

It should be possible to put trains on the tracks and let the program take
care of positioning the wagons correctly! That would be great, wouldn't it?

I'm proud to present a working (well, sort of) sketchy version of my latest
creation, LTrax.

In http://home.swipnet.se/simlego/ldraw/ltrax/ , you'll find the 108 kb zip
file.

It's a program inspired by Matthew Bates' Track Designer, but *much* less
advanced. (I spent a couple of days trying to figure out the binary
structure of the *.tdl files, but failed. A file converting program would
have been better than starting from scratch with another program...)

No need to report all bugs, I'm aware of most of them, I think. The worst
bug is that the program often crashes if you undo twice succeedingly. But
it's completely safe to undo only the last step.

I hope you would like to play around with it for a while. Maybe somebody is
willing to contribute with menu (*.mnu) files or add tracks and other parts
(*.txt). You will be awarded with credits on the coming LTrax webpage if you
like.

I have my latest .dat version of the 4.5v blue points.

Tips:
When you start building, you should either start somewhere close to the
center of the project or set the starting position (and angle?) in intitled.ldr.

You must select category (F2-...) or nothing will happen when you try to
build. (I always forget that)

There is no mouse support yet. So don't panic if nothing happens when you
move your mouse.

If you make your own menu - don't forget the "Return to Main Menu"!!!

Keep the .zip file as a backup in case you mess things up. ;o)

The current program is not case sensitive, but very sensitive to the number
of whitespaces. So if you write:
"0  LTrax Object..."
instead of
"0 LTrax Object...",
LTrax will be completely lost.

Angle deserves an explaination. Angle 0 moving from left to right,
increasing the X value. A complete circle is 32 "Angle units", that makes
Angle 1 = 11.75 degress clockwise. Angle 8 is decreasing Z...

I would very much like to have your opinions, especially about the file
formats and the syntax. Also, I'd like you to write more data files when you
get the hold of it.

I think I may go back to "LTrax Track" instead of "LTrax Object". It depends
on what other object categories we make. Station models, roadplates, general
models...? Many object don't have any Connetion data or may have to be
treated different from track objects. Any suggestions?
