When you say "motorize it", I assume that means you want to be able to run it
on regular LEGO track (as opposed to literary motorizing it to run with its
current wheels on the floor).
If this is the case, then there is nothing technical about it; all you need is
to get a 9 volt train motor (#5300), 3 sets of train wheels (6 total, to
replace all of the Hogwarts Express wheels, which won't run on the 9 volt
track), and 3 bogie plates.
Find some instructions on Brickshelf from past train sets to see how to build
your bogies. It should be a piece of cake!
