Re: 10020 limited to 10000 sets or not?

(...) Personally, I don't think 10000 is all that limited. I mean, even after Larry's placed his order[1] there'll still be plenty to go around. What production run would you expect of a set like this? I'm not a huge fan of forced 'collectibility', (...) (23 years ago, 22-Feb-02, to lugnet.trains)

Re: No. A0001 has been registred (Re: Santa Fe Super Chief Train Engine Registry)

(...) I thought it smelled a little odd. I was not sure, so I did not want to make any accusations... Scott A (...) (23 years ago, 22-Feb-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Metroliner question

(...) High School Physics: To get the same efficiency from DC, we'd literally need a power station in every district of a city/town. Despite that, AC power distribution is High Voltage/Low Current (was DC the same?) as this ensures low power losses (...) (23 years ago, 22-Feb-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Buffers

Using the responses, I've been able to check out the sets on Brickshelf; I'm not surprised I missed them first time round! Judging by the lack of other train related pieces in the box, I guess they are likely to have been sold as the single items (...) (23 years ago, 21-Feb-02, to lugnet.trains)

Re: The wonderful Blacksmith Shop: Open Letter to Dan

I got mine yesterday, knew I was going to be very happy, right from seeing the beautiful box art (was expecting the half-disappointing black & white/gray "legends" style). Enjoyed putting it together - but the real seal of approval came from my 4 (...) (23 years ago, 22-Feb-02, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.build.military, lugnet.trains)

  Re: wow - brickswest 2002

(...) Well, I was only able to attend for a few hours on Saturday, and I must say, that was some of the best few hours I've had in a long time! I finally got to see some of the creations I've been ooohing and awwing at over the past few years (...) (23 years ago, 22-Feb-02, to lugnet.events.brickswest, lugnet.trains)

  Re: Metroliner question

You may be correct, as I really have never seen or studied the systems of which we are referring. My aspects were only mere assumption. I base my hypothesis on a bit of history from the Edison era. In his thriving days of supplying power to the (...) (23 years ago, 22-Feb-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Metroliner question

(...) Well, the electric buses in San Francisco share one of their wires with the historic trolleys along Market St. I'm pretty sure the trolleys are D/C, or the tracks would represent a shock hazard, yes? --Bill. (23 years ago, 22-Feb-02, to lugnet.trains)
