I am very happy with the design of the train and the colors. I was some what

Nice model. I've brought this up before.. I feel the train plates are
too confining and I hardly ever use them.

Not if you go 8 studs wide;-)  At 6 wide, Lar, you are correct, Sir [1], but at 8
one can skirt the wagonplate and reap the benefits a wagonplate provides-- a
large integrated plate with holes-- town junior gone good;-)

I do agree that they give a
skirted look but the freedom I get to make any length I want and even to
include various non rectangular shapes is just too important.

My doodlebug is way longer than any of the train plates and has a
rounded corner front. Never would have been buildable with wagon plates.

see above

On my PCC car, version two, finished last nite, I have a central stair
cutout, and both ends taper down to 4 for one stud to support use of
macaroni brick rounded corners.

GMLTCers will see my PCC cars versions 1 and 2 tomorrow nite

can hardly wait:-°

and if one
of them brings a digital camera, maybe the rest of you will too. :-) I
REALLY need to get a replacement. Sigh. Too slothful to do more than
complain about it.
