  7813 in new "drab" colors

I recently bought a 7813 to get more white corner slopes, so I rebuilt it in a new color scheme. It has a tan base, with grey/ dark grey tanks and black accents. Pictures are here: (URL) Farver - mailto:rfarver@rcn.com (2 URLs) (25 years ago, 3-Apr-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: April 1st / PLEASE don't kill me.....

Great Joke, ben. You should have put a "coming out middle of 2001" type of thing on it, it would have made the fact that the pictures are very early prototypes seem more believable. You were even able to fool people who see prototype pictures all (...) (25 years ago, 3-Apr-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: My Rail Zeppelin and web page.

(...) This page renders somewhat strangely for me in NS 4.7. Buttons jumbled, text overlapping and lots of other weirdness. Just me? +Lar (only one plus for a while, since I got fooled by Ben) (25 years ago, 3-Apr-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: April 1st / PLEASE don't kill me.....

(...) Great models! But I saw it was faked almost immediately...for next year you might want to get an image-editor with better text anti-aliasing :) And maybe add a bit of color to the next engine--LEGO almost never uses just one color...   Re: April 1st / PLEASE don't kill me.....

Great joke, Ben! And nice models too! You made this weekend a lot of fun for me. I was surprised that no one admitted to it by the end of April 1, but I guess the vacation would explain it. Well done! John Matthews (25 years ago, 3-Apr-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: April 1st / PLEASE don't kill me.....

(...) It's a great thing for castle, and it's VERY hard to get nowadays. I probably wouldn't buy the whole set just to get 'em but that would make them easier to get in general and thus cheaper for me to offer trainheads to buy it from them; or (...) (25 years ago, 3-Apr-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: April 1st / PLEASE don't kill me.....

(...) Excuse my stupid question: what is so special with the pitchfork, that you would by a 60 - 80$ set to get one? I supposed it to be rare, since I own just two of them.... Regards, Ben (25 years ago, 3-Apr-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: April 1st / PLEASE don't kill me.....

(...) Well, you sure got me for a sec there! Too bad the hoax suspicions were already posted by the time I saw the "catalog", otherwise I would've bought it completely. :-) Nice job... ouch, you really got us all hoping... (I want a pitchfork!) (...) (25 years ago, 3-Apr-00, to lugnet.trains)

(...) Send me the models. If you have them now, that's pretty definitive. Or just send me the boxcab electric, I want to see how you did the technic motor driving a vertical axle that carries motion to the LGB wheels, and how you did current pickup. (...)
