Re: Dalylight train, Southern Pacific Coast

(...) Hey Mat, You completed the CZ??? Please share photos. I saw the D&RGW Alcos in the background, but no cars. (...) Wow, them were some impressive trains. I like the 2000 era show photos. Now jumping to your reply to Cale... (...) At least with (...) (16 years ago, 1-Aug-08, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  RE: Newest Buildings

Thanks for posting pics of these. I was lucky as I saw many of them at the recent NMRA show...my favorite, the Del Monte Packing Building...you captured the building from that era spot on! Great job. Ray Ray Silva socalray@cox.net -----Original (...) (16 years ago, 1-Aug-08, to lugnet.trains)

Re: NR 28 "Indian Pacific" and a boat

(...) Hi Kerry, Yeah dark blue might be a better choice although my eyes read it as about half way in between from the photos but I trust your real life memory. It's probably possible to do in dark blue but I've certainly not got the funds or (...) (16 years ago, 1-Aug-08, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.town)

Re: NR 28 "Indian Pacific" and a boat

Having spent 3 days on the Indian Pacific last December, I'd probably argue for the use of dark blue rather than the normal blue and some kind of orange rather than the yellow, based on my memory and my happy snaps: (URL) obviously there's an issue (...)   Re: NMRA 2008 report

NR 28 "Indian Pacific" and a boat

(URL) NR 28>> Hi all, It's been a long time since I built anything train related but I was in the mood last night and managed to build this baby.   Re: New Rio Grande Grain Hopper & Santa Fe Freight Car MOCs

New Rio Grande Grain Hopper & Santa Fe Freight Car MOCs

Hello, I just recently completed my new Rio Grande grain hopper and Santa Fe freight car MOCs. The grain hopper was easily my most challenging MOC, but after much head scraping and rebuilding, it finally came out as good as I could have hoped for. (...)   Re: Dalylight Train, Southern Pacific Coast

(...) Thanks Ray, I really wanted to run this on the Bay Area/Southern Pacific combined layout, it seemed symbolic. Mat (16 years ago, 29-Jul-08, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Dalylight train, Southern Pacific Coast

(...) Thanks Benn, I had spotted the Daylight while researching long passenger train consists a few years ago, when working on my Caifornia Zephyr train. The DL was beutiful, but seemed impossible to do justice at the time, how would I get all that (...) (16 years ago, 29-Jul-08, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Dalylight train, Southern Pacific Coast

(...) Thanks Dave, Yes, all of the articulation in my train is a riff of whats's shown at the ILTCO presentaion, although I originally found the ideas here on LUGNET first. The shared car articulation is based on work by Steve Barile (URL). The (...) (16 years ago, 29-Jul-08, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Dalylight train, Southern Pacific Coast

(...) Thanks Cale. I agree the GP9 is wrong, but the only "correct" Deisels would be E7A, E8A, E9A or PA2, and E7Bs mix and matched in pairs. But the only PA I own is in Rio Grand colors, and I own no E units. My GP9 is modeled after SP5623, which (...) (16 years ago, 29-Jul-08, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: SCLTC photos from NMRA 2008

(...) Here's my photos: (URL) I don't think it was from lack of cameras that there's not too many photos; I think it was because of the show's proximity to Disneyland, personally. :) I'm kicking myself for not getting more pictures of NMRA. --Mike (16 years ago, 28-Jul-08, to lugnet.trains.org.scltc, FTX)

  NMRA 2008 report

  Re: 8-Wide Rutland Gondola

(...) Yeah. The blue pins bother me, but they don't stand out as much when the car is on a layout. I do think I might try finding a handful of the dark bley technic half pins that came with the Batboat set though. They'll still be seen, but they (...)
