Re: SCLTC photos from NMRA 2008

(...) Here's my photos: (URL) I don't think it was from lack of cameras that there's not too many photos; I think it was because of the show's proximity to Disneyland, personally. :) I'm kicking myself for not getting more pictures of NMRA. --Mike (16 years ago, 28-Jul-08, to lugnet.trains.org.scltc, FTX)

  Re: NMRA 2008 report

(...) Ted: Thanks for the great wrap-up. Sounds like it was a hoot and that LEGO® Trains were well represented. I'm sorry I had to miss it. -Dave ToT-LUG (16 years ago, 28-Jul-08, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  NMRA 2008 report

As no one else has posted as of yet, here's a brief report on the NMRA's 2008 National Train Show held earlier this month: Location: Hall D, Anaheim Convention Center, Anaheim, California Dates: Exhibition July 18-20, 2008 Space allocation: 65 x 70 (...)   Re: 8-Wide Rutland Gondola

(...) Yeah. The blue pins bother me, but they don't stand out as much when the car is on a layout. I do think I might try finding a handful of the dark bley technic half pins that came with the Batboat set though. They'll still be seen, but they (...)   Some More NMRA 2008 Photos

I figured since Ted got the ball rolling posting event pics, might as well follow- (URL) One thing I did NOT do that I should have was a daily screening of photos taken and I wound up missing some great MOC photos in the process. Next time... What (...) (16 years ago, 28-Jul-08, to lugnet.trains)

RE: Dalylight Train, Southern Pacific Coast

I was able to see these in person at this year's NMRA show and they are as described, and then some. A real sight to see. Thanks for bringing them to the show Mat. Ray Silva socalray@cox.net -----Original Message----- From: news-gateway@lugnet.com (...) (16 years ago, 28-Jul-08, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Maryland & Pennsylvania RR 700 series Box Cars

(...) Okay, Cale, you simply must be stopped. You are making the rest of us look like hacks. Wouldn't a little dark ages feel good right now? Say for the next eight years so that we could catch up to you? Seriously though, very nice detailing, all (...) (16 years ago, 27-Jul-08, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Dalylight train, Southern Pacific Coast

(...) ... (...) Very nice, it is great to see the old consists alive again in Lego and the Daylights were just crying to be done. The lettering looks great and I can't wait to see how your GS4 turns out. So how did you manage to get the (...) (16 years ago, 27-Jul-08, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: SCLTC photos from NMRA 2008

(...) ... (...) With the scarcity of NMRA 08 photos I was starting to wonder if anyone in California owned a camera (grin). Very nice stuff, it would have been great to see it in person. The viaduct, roundhouse, tunnel are all great. Someone even (...) (16 years ago, 27-Jul-08, to lugnet.trains.org.scltc, FTX)

Re: Dalylight train, Southern Pacific Coast

(...) This is an absolutely stunning passenger train. The articulation of the cars looks awesome and the engraved bricks work beautifully. The GP9 looks a little out of place and I'm a big fan of steam so I'm eagerly awaiting to see the steam engine (...) (16 years ago, 27-Jul-08, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Minifig scale?

Hi all, Of late I've noticed a resurgence in the use of 'minifig scale' as a term. Being a mathematically inclined pedant I tend to take issue with this term as minifigs are so deformed it strikes me as impossible to define a single 'scale' to them. (...) (...) --snip-- (...) I'm terribly happy to see colourful passenger rakes make a comeback. I'm far too lazy to make them myself but they do look excellent when done as well as this one. Tim (16 years ago, 25-Jul-08, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: Maryland & Pennsylvania RR 4-4-0 #6

(...) Cale, you're my hero! I've struggled with 4 wheeled pony trucks, and this is the first one using the small BBB wheels I've seen that negotiates around the pistons in one piece. I'm not a big fan of attaching the rail guard to the pony truck, (...) (16 years ago, 24-Jul-08, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Dalylight train, Southern Pacific Coast

(...) Fantastic work! I've always loved this train, the color scheme is just so striking. The solution you've used to get the cars so close together is something I very well may have to look into myself for my Tequila Sunrise. The idea of having the (...)
