Re: SCLTC photos from NMRA 2008

(...) ... (...) With the scarcity of NMRA 08 photos I was starting to wonder if anyone in California owned a camera (grin). Very nice stuff, it would have been great to see it in person. The viaduct, roundhouse, tunnel are all great. Someone even (...) (16 years ago, 27-Jul-08, to lugnet.trains.org.scltc, FTX)

Re: Dalylight train, Southern Pacific Coast

(...) This is an absolutely stunning passenger train. The articulation of the cars looks awesome and the engraved bricks work beautifully. The GP9 looks a little out of place and I'm a big fan of steam so I'm eagerly awaiting to see the steam engine (...) (16 years ago, 27-Jul-08, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Minifig scale?

Hi all, Of late I've noticed a resurgence in the use of 'minifig scale' as a term. Being a mathematically inclined pedant I tend to take issue with this term as minifigs are so deformed it strikes me as impossible to define a single 'scale' to them. (...)   Re: Dalylight train, Southern Pacific Coast

(...) --snip-- (...) I'm terribly happy to see colourful passenger rakes make a comeback. I'm far too lazy to make them myself but they do look excellent when done as well as this one. Tim (16 years ago, 25-Jul-08, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: 8-Wide Rutland Gondola

(...) I have to say, that really makes the case for eight wide! It just looks 'right' Tim (16 years ago, 24-Jul-08, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: Maryland & Pennsylvania RR 4-4-0 #6

(...) Cale, you're my hero! I've struggled with 4 wheeled pony trucks, and this is the first one using the small BBB wheels I've seen that negotiates around the pistons in one piece. I'm not a big fan of attaching the rail guard to the pony truck, (...) (16 years ago, 24-Jul-08, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Dalylight train, Southern Pacific Coast

(...) Fantastic work! I've always loved this train, the color scheme is just so striking. The solution you've used to get the cars so close together is something I very well may have to look into myself for my Tequila Sunrise. The idea of having the (...)   Re: Dalylight train, Southern Pacific Coast

  Re: San Diego Coaster train

Just an update. I got to run my SD Coaster train at the NMRA 2008 show. What a blast. But even more fun for me was seeing Swoofty's Metrolink version. Seems he never saw James Mathis version, and he based his on mine. I also got a chance to run my (...) (16 years ago, 23-Jul-08, to lugnet.trains)

Re: How to hide wires for Train Layout

(...) Your extensive use of wiring requires that you raise you layout off of the baseplates. Using large bricks (4 x 16) or building a surface of 2 x 4 or similar bricks and raise your track by one brick level would allow for small conduits where (...) (16 years ago, 21-Jul-08, to lugnet.trains)

  Underweight SNOT
