(...) it's perfectly safe to use and model railroaders used it quite a bit in the 50's however i would suggest using braided wire instead of solid core. from what i'm told braided wire has less DC voltage loss "or was it less resistance" over a (...) (21 years ago, 19-Feb-06, to lugnet.trains)

Hi, Does anyone know if phone or thermostat wire is a suitable or (more importantly) safe replacement for the 9v train wire? If not, anyone know what I can use? I am running 45 feet of track in a loop and I want to run additional wires from the (...) (21 years ago, 19-Feb-06, to lugnet.trains)
