With my SD40-2 (Rio Grande) I kind of took the middle road and put 6 wheels in the back and used the 4 wheel train motor in the front. I know it's not exact, but we do have to work with in the limits of LEGO parts. I did try match the fans and side (...) (22 years ago, 10-Oct-02, to lugnet.trains)

I don't think it will ever come, and I hope it never comes, and here's why: To design a 6 wheeled truck, you need to make the spacing between the wheels pretty short in order for the truck to negotiate the tight LEGO track curves, a la the 12 (...)
