Re: 4565 The longest-running train set in production?

(...) At least the 725 has been sold as long as 4565 so far (725 from 1974 to 1979). (...) I doubt this, but why not. Regards, Ben (23 years ago, 16-Jul-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Brickfest Questions

Now that Brickshelf is back up, can anyone comment on what this was for (URL) this the inspiration for My Own Train? And this one (URL) this be captioned - "And the crowd goes wild!! " ?? I would have really enjoyed being in the room when the (...) (23 years ago, 16-Jul-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Another Legend dies....

(...) You bring up an excellent point, Eric, namely the fact that these Legend re-releases might cause many of us to cross themes. For example, I've never been a castle head, but I will undoubtedly buy one of the Guarded Inn sets. Who knows, perhaps (...) (23 years ago, 16-Jul-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.lego.direct)

4565 The longest-running train set in production?

From what I've seen so far, I'd think the 4565 to be LEGO®'s most popular in terms of numbers of sales and time in production. Can anyone out there dispute this? I know there's at least a small place in every trainhead's heart for this set. I guess (...) (23 years ago, 16-Jul-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Another Legend dies....

Actually, I'm just happy that LEGO@ has revitalized the trains line. I consider myself to be a 'player' rather than a collector. While I do pay a high sum for MISB sets, I open them all and build these (with modifications, of course). But my motto (...) (23 years ago, 16-Jul-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: August Surprise...

(...) Agreed. Definitely not a "Train" since it's not badged as Train. Not sure I'd characterise it as even a small "t" train since it doesn't run on track, apparently. (23 years ago, 16-Jul-01, to lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.trains)

  Re: August Surprise...

(...) But the original box was badged Trains not Town... The metroliner had grey 1x4s in it, does that make it Classic Space? LEGO(r) set up different themes, LEGO decided how to organize them. LEGO decided that Town and Trains were different (...) (23 years ago, 16-Jul-01, to lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.trains)

In lugnet.events.brickfest, Scott Arthur writes: - snip - (...) You summarized what I was saying better than I could have. As for the "tiny step" with HP, I actually feel it is a pretty large step. At least now a train (no Larry, not a Train) will (...) (23 years ago, 16-Jul-01, to lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.trains)
