Re: Some Buildings built for NMRA 2007

I remember first meeting you and you were so modest about the things you build. What I see is a great builder! These are no exception! Great work, I liked seeing them, I am sure they will look great set up at the NMRA 2007. - Eric (18 years ago, 27-Mar-07, to lugnet.town)

Wow, that is a lot of work, and it all looks wonderful. You are a great builder. - Eric (18 years ago, 27-Mar-07, to lugnet.town)

Re: Moscow in the 80s - diorama

(...) Tim, This is great! I studied in Moscow for a few months in 1987 and have many memories of the transport-- I particularly like your subway cars. To complete the street scene I suggest adding a long line of shopping-bag-carrying minifigs (...) (18 years ago, 27-Mar-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: Moscow in the 80s - diorama

(...) Hi Andreas, Thanks I have most of the stuff in CAD so if you'd like to render it I'll be happy to assemble it for you ;) Your render style would suit it much more than mine would... of course it might take a while to render :) Tim (18 years ago, 26-Mar-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

  Re: Australian road train

Very eye catching... And it is rare I comment on anything train related. I really like the sleek 'realness' of this thing. God Bless, Nathan (URL) (18 years ago, 26-Mar-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Looking great! Especially for town MOCs ; ) I'm particularly impresses by all the built in sculpting detail. Very castle applicable : ) Thanks for sharing and God Bless, Nathan (URL) (18 years ago, 26-Mar-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: Moscow in the 80s - diorama

Hi Tim, very nice diorama! To be honest, I have expected something different when I read the title (a virtual version of moscow, of course - for which I am now waiting month and years...:-) ) It looks like a capital so crowded and also it reminds me (...)   Re: Some Buildings built for NMRA 2007

(...) Thanks! I'm really pleased with the sand red building, myself. I wish I could photograph black better. There is some nice detail in the first floor facade on the dark orange building. Plus I was happy to use those huge windows as well. (...) (...) (18 years ago, 26-Mar-07, to lugnet.town)

Re: Some Buildings built for NMRA 2007

(...) After finally managing to get a good look (with a quick spotlight) at these I can finally comment :) There's far too many lovely details for me to pick them all. My favourite bit is the studs out on the sand red building. They work so well. I (...) (18 years ago, 26-Mar-07, to lugnet.town)

Re: Moscow in the 80s - diorama

(...) Yeah. I got a little impatient and posted before it was modded... about four or five hours after uploading. (...) The arches on the subway are a bit of a disappointment. I can't really spend much money on Lego at the moment so I had to (...) (18 years ago, 26-Mar-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: Moscow in the 80s - diorama

(...) Hi Tim, Brickshelf didn't make us wait to long . . . Looks great! The trains and bus are my favorites. You've gotten some really nice details into the buildings as well as the subway platform. I love the doubled arches on the subway platform. (...) (18 years ago, 26-Mar-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: 10182 Cafe Corner... short reveiw and modified

(...) I think you've made some nice adjustments and added some thoughful additional touches. I like the inclusion of the awning over the angled door. I thought that was missing in the original. For me, I really like the set and am very happy I (...) (18 years ago, 26-Mar-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: Some Buildings built for NMRA 2007

(...) Hmmm, well it cuts both ways.... by that logic, if it weren't for me, you'd have had a lot more $$$ to spend on your LSO for Valentine's Day! Your secret's safe with me though! :-) (...) To say "I can hardly wait" would be an understatement:-) (...) (18 years ago, 26-Mar-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: Some Buildings built for NMRA 2007

(...) Sorry, correction: If it were not for NMRA looming . . . (18 years ago, 26-Mar-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: Some Buildings built for NMRA 2007

(...) Thanks, John! Lol! You do deserve credit, bro. If it we're for NMRA looming, I would probably only have built one building in February, rather than all these. Look for more from me in a couple of weeks. I have two more just about ready to go. (...) (18 years ago, 26-Mar-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: Some Buildings built for NMRA 2007

(...) Thanks! Yes, that is Maersk blue on the sand red building. And, glad you noticed the car grills. I was walking through Soho and noticed that quite a few of the cornices and architectural features of the older buildings were made of some kind (...) (18 years ago, 26-Mar-07, to lugnet.town)

Re: Some Buildings built for NMRA 2007

(...) You just get better with every street. The sand red building works really well, combined with (medium, Mearsk?) blue it gives a really subduded colour balance. I like the use of the car grills on the black shop front too. Tim (18 years ago, 26-Mar-07, to lugnet.town)
