  10182 Cafe Corner... WOW

(URL) Just saw this on BS. I've heard the set mentioned by name on Eurobricks but to see it... just WOW. Tim (18 years ago, 6-Mar-07, to lugnet.town, FTX) !!

  Re: MOC: Terraced houses

(...) I noticed these yesterday but work got in the way . . . I really like the colors used and the use of plates as well. The smoke effect above the burned out window is really nice. I might give it a try on buildings for my next layout. The Maersk (...) (18 years ago, 6-Mar-07, to lugnet.town)

  Re: MOC: Terraced houses

Very nice, the brick (as in the 'real' ones ; ) orientation and boarded up windows are great details and the whole street comes across nicely. Thanks for sharing! God Bless, Nathan (URL) (18 years ago, 6-Mar-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

  Re: MOC: Terraced houses

As you already know from the Brickish Association I love these houses. I think they are my favorite MOC of all time. They are definatly the UK equivalent of Jonathan Lopes' seedy city building, but I can relate more to them! Although everyone in the (...) (18 years ago, 6-Mar-07, to lugnet.town)

  Re: MOC: Terraced houses

Hi Alastair, thanks for sharing your architecture creations. I love the way you build these typical houses form England. And you not only did "copy and paste", you added various styles. So life comes into the LEGO bricks. I remember these types of (...) (18 years ago, 6-Mar-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

(...) Really well done! I'm always impressed by folks who have achieved a certain look, not just of pure shape but also of texture and colour. Calum (18 years ago, 6-Mar-07, to lugnet.town)

  Re: Steamship Möwe

(...) In 1914, the German navy converted a banana transport into the armed merchant raider Mowe; this ship turned out to be very destructive to the British and her allies. Almost 50 ships were captured, sunk, or mined by the Mowe. The ship's (...) (18 years ago, 6-Mar-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

  Re: Steamship Möwe

(...) Stunning work. The model is packed full of details and since I'll annoy the people who know the names of things on ships if I try to comment on most of them I'll stick to what is probably my favourite detail... the captain's beard (small (...) (18 years ago, 6-Mar-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

(...) Of course if you want some real teak veneered LEGO tiles, I am your man. lol I would think that the deck would be of teak, but all woods available. Tommy Armstrong www.brickengraver.com (18 years ago, 5-Mar-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

  Re: Steamship Möwe

(...) Uups, had no idea - I thought that is a quite common name for small sailing boats and harmless things like that. So I declare my loyality to a democratic and republican constitution :-) Andreas (18 years ago, 5-Mar-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

  Re: Steamship Möwe

A great concept, beautifully executed. With regards to the planks, everything in LEGO has a degree of cartoonification, so if it gives the right impression without being too distorted, it's valid in my book. Al (who has also just got posting (...) (18 years ago, 5-Mar-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

  Re: Steamship Möwe

Andreas: You sure know your ships! I like the attention to detail such as the navigation lights, anchor winch, ventilation shafts, draft lines on the side of the hull, etc. As you may be aware, a ship of this name was one of the more successful of (...)   Steamship Möwe

Hello, after reestablishing my posting privileges, I'd like to show my latest creation (part of a longer harbour project), a steamship in a style of the first decades of the 20th century: The freighter 'Möwe' (seagull) (URL) It does not have a real (...)   MOC: Terraced houses

This is a recent MOC of a row of English terraced houses. It's typical of working class housing from around 1900 as can be found across much of the Midlands and North of England.   MOC: Scots Baronial house

I built this a few years ago, but I don't think I ever announced it at the time. It's a Scots Baronial mansion house, based on the buildings of 19th century Edinburgh architect David Bryce. It's not modelled on any single house - he'd never have had (...) (18 years ago, 5-Mar-07, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.town, lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.build.arch) !

  MOC: Kedleston Hall

Kedleston Hall is a classical 18th century mansion in Derbyshire, UK. I've modelled it in LEGO, and you can see the results here: (URL) front is largely accurate, excepting the lack of sculpture and the fact that I've compressed the staircase so (...)   Re: Build a Suburban House (or homes) for Brickfest

(...) Either size is fine, I just need to know how big they are for space planning. By the way, the 32x48 format is 32 wide and 48 deep (to answer your question from the other day which I never got back to!) Jeff (18 years ago, 5-Mar-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)
