Thanks very much. Of course I steal a lot of the tricks from our German building
friends so 1000steine is really the source of it.

I like the approach of using the 2x2 clear slope underneath the yellow arch.
It obviously isnt perfect, but it works and it works just fine. The point
is clearly made with the available parts. The limited parts pallets is
actually a part of the hobby that I have grown to embrace and now actually
endear. I still get frustrated now and then, but working with what is
available has become part of the challenge for me.

Thats precisely why I like working with the constrained pallette of Lego rather
than full kitbashing (well, that and the fact that my hands vibrate like an old
washing machine). It forces you to use different parts of your brain to get
around difficulties. Sometimes a mechanical solution such as building massive
SNOT buttresses will work but other times you just have to accept a slight
error in order to maintain the look if not the accuracy.
The main time I get frustrated is when a useful part isnt available in a common
colour (such as the yellow arch in this which exists but was never released in
sets). This seems to be particularly true for green which somehow has a much
more limited pallette than the other basic colours.

Excellent.
6 wide too. Perfect for many towns.

I like to keep my vehicles in scale with my trains. Seeing what people can do
with six-wide cars does tempt me sometimes but I guess Im a sucker for small.
Thanks for your kind words.
